24K dipped roses

If treated well, do they last indefinitely? I bought my wife one for Valentine's day.... and I am now having second thoughts.

DH2B bought me one last year and it's still intact. they're very sturdy, unless your wife plans on throwing the thing around the room for some reason.

This website: http://www.enduringrose.com/24k-dipped-gold-roses.php says they last forever. They are trying to sell them so you never know.

This one: http://www.gold-rose.org/ also says they last a "lifetime."

I'm not into gold or roses, but for someone who is, this looks like a neat idea.

aww that one's pretty! for some odd reason DH2B bought me a pink one. i still like it tho, but the red looks more sharp.
