oh no! that is terrible! i completely understand where you are coming from and totally agree! if shes not interested in anything about your wedding, she doesnt need to be there. regardless of whether she bought the dress or not. how much was it, if you dont mind my asking..maybe you could reimburse her for it and cut ties...but then thats evenmore awkward. sheesh girl, youve got yourself in a pickle! i hope you two can figure it out and save your friendship, if not....well, were all here to let you vent! :rotfl: Good luck, keep us updated!:grouphug:

honestly... if you had the money... i agree with sarah to buy her out of the wedding. you don't need the stress, nor someone who doesn't want to be there :(

i'm glad i'm waiting to ask anyone. we may not even have a wedding party.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with a bridesmaid. I'm so glad I didn't have any bridesmaids because there's always drama!

I agree with a previous poster, just pay her for her dress and tell her that you'd rather her not come and cause drama. Make sure you get the dress for yourself though, lol. You can wear it to some formal function later on :)

I can't wait to see pictures of all of your DIY stuff when it is finished! I am sure that it isn't going to look like a first grade art project.

I am sorry to hear about all of the wedding party drama. We are all here for you to vent to! It is too bad that you feel like you chose your wedding party too early, so you have nowhere to move but forward. If you think that the suggestion of buying her out will work and be easier for you, then I would say to do it. This is your day and you need to make sure that you are happy! Good luck with everything!

I think that you are completely correct in wishing that everything would just go smoothly - it is supposed to be a happy occasion right? And I don't think that you are bridezilla at all - you recognize that it isn't going to be their main priority, but you still want it to be a priority. You really aren't alone in this though. I had some drama with my MIL that almost ended my marriage before it even started. But it is great to hear that things are getting better. Hopefully things go smoothly from here on for you!

It sounds like we are kind of in the same spot planning-wise. Our wedding is the 26th of May and we managed to get half our invites out this Tuesday. The other half are for our home reception, so I feel like it's ok to send them out as a batch a bit later. You've gotten started on a lot more of the other things on your list than I have though! I haven't even thought about table names or anything like that!

Hi!

Your day is almost here!! It comes so quickly doesn't it??

Congratulations on buying a house!! We bought our house before our wedding as well, and it worked out great for us. We bought for the same reasons as you too - we got a great deal (estate sale) and mortgage rates were at an excellent rate - so we couldn't pass it up!

I can't wait to see pictures and read all about your big day!

I'm really excited for you!! Seems like yesterday it was a year away!! I'm sure once I hit my one year mark next month time will fly by for me, which is a good thing in a way because I've waited so long, but hopefully I've started everything early and been getting projects done to have enough time to relax and not be stressed out at least 2 weeks before the wedding.

I can't wait to see everything brought together!!! Have a safe trip to Florida!

I know exactly how you feel! We didn't buy a house, but somehow everything is down to the last minute for me too. Todd got really busy at work in the last couple weeks and as it turned out, my supposed part-time job became not only full time, but also over time for the past 2 months!

We managed to get our last newsletter out in the mail (along with some extra goodies - which were totally unnecessary, but I really wanted to do them) yesterday. Now we have to focus on making sure our bridal party and parents all know what is going on! I definitely will not be able to relax and enjoy the day of if I am getting asked a zillion questions!
