We are planning on going again...YAY ...in July 2015 and I was looking online and saw flights from our neck of the woods for $240 a ticket, mid day flights that are direct flights. Is that a good price or should I hold out a little longer to try and get closer to $200 a ticket? I'd hate to end up paying over that since that IS within our budget for 6 of us to go. Just feeling a little nervous and don't want to make a rash :headache: decision again!

Thanks for the thoughts!

I would wait and keep checking the airline's promos. The price won't go up till the last 2 months anyway, so I would just wait and keep checking over the next few weeks. They are also predicting gas prices to continue to fall, which may also mean cheaper flights.

$240 sounds good to me! Flights have been ridiculously expensive. Are they on Southwest, so you can get a credit if the price goes down?

I say if the price is acceptable and the times are perfect, don't wait.

::yes:: and NEVER look at the flight costs again!

That's about what the best price is from our airport.

$240 round-trip sounds reasonable to me. Can you find them cheaper? Maybe. But can they go up more and then never go back down to $240? Definitely. I think $240 is a great price to lock in.

My personal rule of thumb is to book if under $250.

I generally only fly SW, too, so it's no problem to rebook if prices do go down.

Umm, seems like a great price to me!! Our flights *used* to be about that RT from Denver. This last trip (this month), they were $380. I really, really hope low gas prices cause airline prices to fall!

Direct or non stop? They are not the same.

I've been booking flights all the way through June to use our new Companion Pass, and I usually see non stop flights cheaper than direct.

I was planning to purchase tickets in March for our upcoming June trip as everything I read says that's when best price would be however when I looked today and found tickets from sfo to Orlando for $305 with taxes, I jumped on it and now it's all coming together! Our timeshare is already booked and we have season passes so now I just need to figure out where we are eating!

Sw prices don't decrease as u get closer, they Increase, unless they do a prom thru the Sw link typically. . If a price is good, I'd book. Gas may be going down but not necessarily the airline prices. Consider the " deals" when u have to start paying for bags or paying for seats together. Good luck!

Book now.
Looking at SWA prices from Houston they likely won't be lower without a promo--then you can rebook & get a credit. But that is a great price.
