We will be flying in late on a Thursday into LAX. We will need to be back at LAX the next night about 9:00 PM for a flight to Australia. How can I get to Disneyland for the day without it being too complicated? We did one day a few years back before the repositioning cruise, but we had two nights. That visit we had dinner at Club 33, so, our entry was taken care of for the day. I suppose we won't get a hopper pass this time since we won't have as much time, but any suggestions would be appreciated!

That's an easy one...take your time getting to Anaheim Thursday night via taxi or shuttle, check into a close hotel within walking distance...ideally one of the resort hotels on site, walk over to the park that night or the front desk of the resort hotel and pre buy your tickets for the next day, relax and have some dinner at DTD. Next day, wake up and check out first thing in the am, put your bags at storage at the hotel (this is where the resort hotel comes in handy being close to go back to get your bags). Be at park at rope drop and play all day. When it is time to bolt...go grab your bags and get a taxi...or better yet...and probably cheaper to LAX, a car service so you can scoot when you want...and poof, a day of fun!

What time would we have to leave Anaheim on a Friday night to get to LAX by 9 or so?
Last time we did the super shuttle to Anaheim which was a big mistake...

A couple of weeks ago we drove from Hojos to LAX (we had a rental car). We left Hojos at 5.30pm and were at LAX by 6.30pm. My brother and family caught the Disneyland express at the same time and I think it took about 1.5-2 hours

I think a rental car is easiest because you can leave as you please, however shuttles or limo services like to leave early which cuts an hour out of your playtime. I agree with a close hotel you can walk from if onsite isn't in your budget. I probably wouldn't park hop but if you feel you have time you can always add that to your ticket later. I would get there when the park opens because you can get SO much stuff done in the first two hours before everyone else starts showing up. Do you need to be there at nine or the flight takes off at nine? If the flight leaves at nine you should arrive around 6 for an international flight and with traffic...I'd leave no later than 5, meaning in the car on the road at 5 which means leave the park no later than 4:15 to get your luggage etc. If you need to be at the airport at 9 for a later flight then traffic will not be an issue. I hope it all works out for you!!

Rental car would actually be the fastest solution...and probably cheaper for a one day rental than round trip ground transportation. Then you could bolt from DL to LAX with bags already loaded. Traffic in that direction at that hour shouldn't be too horrible...everyone is trying to LEAVE LA at that time!
