24-Hour Day 2015 Tips

I am so excited about this event! It's my first time going to Magic Kingdom alone. I'm dressing as Donald and possibly bounding as Tiana during the day. I do have a question, would it be ok to wear pjs during the overnight hours? I plan on staying the entire 24 hours, so I hope to remain as comfortable and as sane as possible :)

I looked through the threads and see that pjs ore ok! I hope to see some of you there!

Just look for an older Christopher Robin with a beard; I'll walking around all day with my camera gear! If you missed it earlier in the thread, we are planning to have a mini meet up in FP West for Wishes (hope to be there shortly after 8pm). If you have have a FP and want to watch the fireworks with fellow DISers, come join us! :-)

The DC Stars will also be appearing at times at DC Club Chill in Tomorrowland from 4PM-11PM if you don't make the parade.

Also, keep your eyes open out in the Park-they will be out riding rides and having fun like everybody else.:)

Thank you! I will try to talk her into looking for them at Club Chill also eek! How cool would it be to bump into one on Space Mountain or somewhere for her!

Yes Ladydots we are doing the PJ thing overnight also and got the idea from this thread! I think it will fun and comfy too. In other news, I may not sleep BEFORE I get there either I'm so excited :cool1:

OMG! I'm already sleepless about it! I don't have a FP for wishes StLDisFan, but if I see you around during the day I'll say howdy!

@Minniekins honestly not trying to sound pedantic but the Parks blog mentioned a few other Frozen events as well:
  • Once things cool down in Tomorrowland, Rockettower Plaza switches gears for sing-along screenings of Disney’s “Frozen” from midnight – 4 a.m.
  • There’s even more “Frozen” fun in store, when Olaf, Kristoff, Anna and Elsa put Magic Kingdom Park “on ice” with pre-parade appearances just ahead of the 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. performances of the Main Street Electrical Parade.
http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...-hours-of-entertainment-at-magic-kingdompark/

Again, not sure if there were more specifics you were looking for. I know these additions aren't exactly meet and greets with characters, but the "on ice" pre-parade appearance sounds intriguing...

And I am sure the Frozen-themed snacks will be out and probably Frozen/24 hour event merchandise too. And hopefully for the character fans out there Disney will make an announcement about Olaf and Kristoff meet ups (and for my sake, to alleviate crowds for rides throughout the event).

It is a bit annoying that they haven't mentioned ALL of the details. Wish they would just put it all out there for us. There is quite a bit going on though throughout the day, just unfortunate for me that none of it really seems that interesting (except maybe those "stiltwalkers and lots of fun party people" hahah). But hey 24 hours in the park?? I'll take it! :-)

Hey! Well, actually I made my post in the time right before the Dis is down for about an hour and a half, so it ended up not posting till the next day. I only made a small adjust to it, after a very quick glance at the blog. :o

I was looking for m&g's, yes, and what else, I'm not sure, lol. Curious about the on ice pre-parade thing, that may be interesting! I hope they have some sort of map or list of events, that will be helpful. Not too interested in disney show kids anymore. Well, hopefully today will bring more definitive details with more fun things. Leaving on plane 6 a.m. Thu morning, getting excite, oh, and hoping we survive all that awful heat and hUmidity, lol, ugh!
Hope you have a great 24 hr day(and rest of your trip, as well)! :mickeyjum

We have neck coolers, mister fans and may even wear big beach hats to help combat the heat. I know there is no way we are going to last without a
break, so that will be in the
afternoon at the hotel. Beyond that...just hoping for the best. We are treating it like a marathon and not a sprint so will be happy with whatever we get done. Only a few more days to go!

I think our biggest mistake last year was missing the pre-parades, I figured we would catch the next one, then when we missed the last one, just figured they would do it during a normal day, nope. I am trying to hit all the things that are not apart of the normal magic kingdom day. If we get most of that I will say we did good this year. The magic kingdom calendar has all the events listed already if you want to see it, but it is a bit confusing since things go for such long periods, they get listed all over the place.

How cool would it be to bump into one on Space Mountain or somewhere for her!

I hope it happens for her-very cool!:)

We used to run into them all the time in the Parks during Disney Channel Games.

Sometimes they will have a Disney VIP CM with them,so if you see one of the VIP guides, there will most likely be a DC Star in the area.:)

We leave in the morning. Told DH over the weekend and he is very excited (except for the RD at 6 AM part).
DGD still doesn't know. We'll tell her when we pick her up from her last day of school tomorrow

I hope everyone has a great time. We are taking it very easy leading up to Friday so we are not worn out

Hey everyone! Jumping in late here, but we are going! My hubby is turning 40 next month, so as a surprise to him I booked a quick trip just for this day. (I ended up telling him the surprise since he was getting emails regarding the trip and it was too stressful manning his inbox lol). And we are doing costumes!!!! DH will be Chief Name/Trader Sam, I'll be Fairy Godmother Disneybound style, and DD (14) will be Pink/Blue Sleeping Beauty!

Just saw the DL blog post about being able to camp out in tents and being let into Main Street at 4am.

Please please tell me that is not happening in WDW. Heading to the bus at 4:30 is bad enough for me. Do we need to be any earlier?

We leave tomorrow!! So excited!! Gonna work in the morning and then I am out of here......
I plan to wear my PJ's after midnight...Until then bounding as Belle!
I hope to rent a locker in the morning first thing.:teeth:
I hope SW gets us in early tomorrow so we can make it to DTD..Supposed to land at 8:20, but it always seems like we get in 30 min early and weather is all clear here in STL tomorrow.:sunny:
We got the email that we can skip check in so I figure we can jump off the ME and right on the DTD bus. Supposed to get a text with our room number! Very exciting. Staying at POP tomorrow and then moving over to AOA for our package in the morning.
So many last minute things to do!!!:yay::dogdance:

No not at all....We did the party a couple years ago and got there at 10 min till 6am and it was fine..lot's of early risers, but once we got in the park we literally had it to our selves till around 9 am. It was great!
We plan to arrive by 5:45 am on Friday. No worries!:p

We are packing up right now and headed out tomorrow. Won't get to CBR until Thursday though. We are stopping along the way to visit and sightsee.

We have four park bags for six people. Eek. One diaper bag, one bag of clothes (pjs), one regular park bag with snacks and ponchos and sunscreen and all the normal stuff, and one 31 thermal for bottled water. We have a stroller though, so we don't actually have to lug any of that around on our bodies.

Those of you not taking a break, anything special you are bringing into the parks? I want to make sure I don't forget anything.

I haven't seen anything about that happening at WDW. I imagine the reasoning for that at DL is because this is the kick-off for their 60th anniversary. I saw on another thread where all of the surrounding hotels are sold out. Last year at WDW there was just the normal rope drop crowd at MK. It didn't seem out of the ordinary to me. We got a LOT done in those early morning hours. We hope to do the same this year!!

Is it me or is anyone else feeling like there's not going to be any special food? I was really hoping they would announce that today! I leave in just 48hrs (now back to grad school writing to be free of it by time I fly out!!)

If anyone is looking for adult women Disney PJ's for the party I just got the cutest ones at JC Penny and they were on sale! Whoo! They are a tank and shorts and Mickey and Minnie kissing but they had Elsa and Cinderella ones if you want pants too. I should rest up tonight but I am probably going to be too excited to sleep lol

We are planning on hitting trader sam's @ the poly around 4pm. If we see you guys there, we would be more than happy to buy a round.

Ds8 and I have a routine...this is year 3 for us! We do SWW during the day from RD to mid afternoon. Hit the pool then he showers and gets dressed for the park and I put him to bed. I usually roll him out of bed at 2:30 am and we hit Magic Kingdom at 3am. We got from 3 to 6. Last year he rode barnstormer (one of his favorites) from 5-6am straight. He loved it.

After we head to Poly for breakfast at o'hana then back for park open until he is too tired to keep going. Back to hotel for a pool break. This time we will plan to go back in the evening - have evening fast passes. Then back to hotel to get ready for another SWW rd.

1 more day!!! My 24 hour day is jam packed!!! We are staying at the Contemporary so we are walking over at 4:45 am. Rope drop riding all we can, Crystal Palace breakfast, Keys to the Kingdom tour, FP for Parade, then I am getting a haircut, BOG dinner, Mine Coaster FP, back to Contemporary to change into costume, Pirates and Pals, back to MK for our MSEP FP, then Epcot, then back to MK until 6 AM... so excited!!!
