24-Hour Day 2015 Tips

So the Disney channel stars? Any guesses in that? Are they talking characters like Doc McStuffins or actors from Jessie, etc? I think my kids would lose their little minds if any Disney channel actors were there.

I read it as actors. I feel like all the cartoons like doc mcstuffins are on disney Jr, so it's my guess they would have said disney Jr.

Sorry, should have refreshed the page first. I see others have already posted about the DC kids appearances.

If I didn't have kids I'd be doing the same but my daughter is obsessed with Jessie and three of those kids will be there. It's her birthday trip so... Yeah. I'll be in the crazy crowd. My heart will be across the park on Thunder Mountain though. :)

Is everyone finalizing plans? I still can't decide if we should brave the bus at Sports or just take the car.

Also not sure if we're just going to go for a good time or if we should try some sort of challenge. I.E. meet all the characters available or see every show or whatever.

Does anyone else hate the day schedule on the Disney website?

Its the weirdest, move convoluted thing ever. I am thinking of typing up my own schedule that makes sense.

I'm trying to finalize plans, but it's still all up in the air. I really like the FoF parade and was planning to watch at 3 (because I'm going to hop to DHS for an author signing at 11 and will miss the 12pm version) but now that it is the Disney star one, I am less excited about the crowds it will attract and will probably skip it.

I'm renting a car and plan to drive to the park so I have more control on when I get there and I can leave stuff in the car instead of renting a locker and if I just need to escape the crowd for a little while, I can take refuge in the car instead of having to go back to the hotel.

Do you have another day you could see the FOF parade? It might be doable if you watch it from where it starts in Frontierland, people seem to ignore Frontierland for the parade, especially near the start of the parade.

Which author are you going to meet?

I might be able to see it if I get to MK early enough after Galactic Gathering this Thursday but I am not counting on it. It's not the end of the world if I don't see it. I just like the music! I'll probably try Frontierland and if it gets crowded, bail out.

I'm going to see Jason Fry, the author of the Star Wars Rebels tie-in kids novels. His signing is 11-1, so I am hoping to get there early and hope the line won't be long because people are watching the SW parade.

oooh that is a clever idea, get him while people are at the parade.

We are working on a plan. Our goal is going to be to ride every ride, meet a list of characters that we haven't met before (not even uncommon ones, just ones we somehow have continually missed: Mary Poppins, Tiana, Jessie, and a few others), see FoF because we've never seen it (well we walked by it last fall but we were going to be late to our A&E fp so we couldn't stop to watch!), and then see how many other things we can fit in.

I bought a little 4x6 notebook and wrote the name of every major attraction and show on the top of a separate page so we can jot down what time we do each. I also listed characters that are normally available, the showtimes that are currently known, etc. I am using my phone for pictures so I don't want to waste too much battery power on this sort of thing... a hard copy doesn't waste my phone battery :)

As far as a touring plan... Pretty much be there at RD, start in Tomorrowland and loop around hitting all the rides we can in the early morning hours.... Past that, I have no idea! :)

Anyone know what transportation options will be available by 5am or so to make it to
RD? Resort monorail? Ferry? Boats from Poly & GRand fl? Buses?

I've decided to taxi to contemporary IF the line looks HORRIBLE at 430 when I plan to get in line; My plan of attack once in MK is BTMR and work out from there

I'm doing what @missnic suggested and driving in the a.m., busing for mid-day break, driving back to resort at park close. As for park strategy, I'm torn. I *want* to head straight to 7DMT, but I think my youngers are going to need a "warm-up" ride or two before they are awake enough to be willing to ride a "coaster". So, maybe we'll start in Fantasyland at Pooh and PP, and then try for 7DMT. My head and Type A personality says, "Go for the headliners!" but my realistic side says, "Take it easy and enjoy - we have nothing but time." I also want to just soak in the atmosphere of early morning in the MK, e.g., watching for the sunrise over the castle.

@TandLMommy28 - LOVE your PJ top!
