Welcome to the story breaking, season arc defining process for season 2 of 24- Disney Edition. This season will be bigger, bolder and more magical than the last. We are very excited the powers-that-be (PTB) decided to pick us up for another round.

If you missed out on Season One, let me fill you in. Season 1 of 24- Disney Edition followed two agents of MTU, Magical Trip Unit, as they went on a mission to WDW to check out the 24 hour Monstrous Summer kick off event. (You can check out Season 1, Jack Bauer is a Sissy Pants. 24- Disney Edition, in its entirety here.)

With another 24 hour event for 2014 announced, we are able to bring you season 2. This time around it will be bigger, bolder, and more magical!

And that’s all the “tv production talk” I can muster and hope to make sense! Hey y’all. This is my PTR (and first ever PTR) for a trip to participate in the next 24 hour event! My DD and I

Went to the one this past May (that would be season 1), and had a great time!

So when I heard on the DisUnplugged podcast there would be another 24 hour event to kick off the summer in 2014, I was all in. However to just go to the 24 hour event wouldn’t be enough. No…bigger, bolder, more magical..remember. For this 24 hour event we will be going to all 3 parks! Yep MK, DL, and DCA all in 24 hours. I actually had this brain child for the last one, but came up with it too late in the game to execute it in a way that justified the expense. Now I have plenty of time to plan and save, so it’s on this time around!

Oh, I forgot to mention we have never been to the CA parks. So not only will we do this 24 hour challenge, we will have our first trip to Disneyland and DCA, too! To say I’m excited about this is an understatement.

I hope you’ll come along on the journey to plan this little adventure. I can use all the advice I can get about Disneyland and DCA. I’m sure I’ll be making a nuisance of myself on the Disneyland boards!

When the news came out about there being a 24 hour event in 2014 no date was announced. Just a mentioned that it would be a summer kick off event. If I were a betting woman, I would bet that the event will be Memorial Day weekend again, and it will be themed to a “monster” again. As it turns out the release date for Maleficient was also announced this past week- May 30th. The tie in is too delicious to pass up, don’t you think? I really hope this comes to pass. Maleficient is my favorite villain.

Like a good little Diser, the minute I decided to do this, I went into planning mode. Without a firm date there’s only so much I can do, but based on my prediction, I’m sketching in the Memorial Day weekend as the weekend I need to build the trip around. A few of the things I’m noodling through now…

A. Do we go to CA before the weekend and start the 24 hr challenge there and fininsh in FL, or do what makes sense and start in FL and end up in CA then stay on past.

Considertions: My DD’s recital. This is kind of up in the air as the venue where it is normally held suddenly jacked up its rental fees. Assuming though that it is the same weekend as it usually is, we’d have to go to CA first b/c mandatory rehearsals will be during the week that follows Memorial Day.

On the upside, I would imagine the crowds wont’ be as bad at the CA parks as they will be once it gets past Memorial Day. Also if we finish up in FL, we can spend Memorial Day weekend there and hit up SWW! Sweet.

B. LAX or OC airport. LAX has more flight times available, but I don’t like LAX. OC, haven’t flown there, but I understand the airport is much more manageable and it is closer to DL.

C. Tickets! Ack!! This will be the first trip I’ve taken in 4 years where I’ve had to think about when (and where) to buy tickets.

D. On site or off-site hotels. I know there is an abundance of off-site hotels within walking distance, buy I really want to stay at the Disneyland Hotel. Or maybe rent points and stay at the Grand Californian.

OK, I thought you were going to do two SEPARATE 24 events on two separate trips. But I have now come to realize that you are planning coast to coast in 24 hours.

Since we have been friends for so long and I love you so dearly, I am trying to come up with a nice way to tell you how crazy you are. But naturally, I definitely want to hear ALL about it and to see how you pull it off.

That being said, I would enlist the help of emmysmommy here on the boards. She lives about 20 minutes away from Disneyland and I think she could give you some great advice.

I have wanted to go to Disneyland for a while now, but getting DH on board is proving difficult. We could stay at the Grand Floridian, but having to buy tickets and pay for airfare just freaks him out.

I would let you rent points from us, but we are always OUT of points. We have to wait until February to book our Spring Break trip and that is kinda scary to me - haha.

I can't wait to see how you are going to pull this off !!

LOL! It is crazy isn't it?!! It will be fun, though....I hope. My dream is to one day create an Amazing Race type contest that involves going to all Disney resorts world wide. I'd of course have to build in some stops and challenges in other countries with a Disney tie in, like a London challenge where you have to visit Big Ben at night and take a picture on the steps of St. Paul's Cathedral. I'll have to start buying lottery tickets in Lexington if I ever hope to pull that one off! Yours will be the first family I call to participate though if I ever do manage to make that one happen. Better start brushing up on your French now. :rotfl2:

You'll have to give up a cruise one year and go to Disneyland instead. Save up your points and do a Disneyland to Aulani trip. Wouldn't that be fun! (and expensive!)

If I had DVC, I'd constantly be out of points, too. I'm kinda leaning toward the Disneyland Hotel over the Grand Californian. It just seems more iconic. In reality, we'll probably be staying at the HoJo across the street from the park.
