O.K, I know I should not look at the scale and look at the changes in my body......but, I am getting bummed.

Other times I have done Atkins, the scale has really moved......this time, NOT!!

My stomach is flatter (not to where I want it!) and I feel better an thinner but I guess I just need to "see" it on the scale!!

Clothes are fitting better................maybe I should get a new scale!!!

Thanks for listening to me vent..............I needed to get it off my chest............

I know it can be frustrating.
I had a week where the scale didn't move. But my clothes were looser.

My DH went a whole month with no loss at all on the scale. Finally, on March 6 he showed a loss. He was getting a little frustrated too. But he feels better overall.

You have some great positives to focus on, instead of what the scale says.
You feel thinner. Your stomach feels flatter. That is great!

I say, keep up the good work. Toss your scale!

I know what you mean...I've been there too, in fact I'm still there. I'm blaming it all on my age! (40)

At the request of my DH, I don't get on the scale but once or twice a month. It is so frustrating to see it stay the same or Gasp! go up instead of down. A much better test is how my clothes are fitting. I'm into clothes that I haven't been able to wear in almost 2 years even though the scale isn't always reflecting the size change.

When I did Atkins in 1999, the scale showed a 30 lbs loss in less than 60 days on the program. This time around, in 90 days I still haven't reached a 15 lbs loss (and I have much more to go...). But I do have to admit that I feel much better eating low-carb. My energy level stays more consistent, I don't have the blood-sugar highs and lows and my skin, hair and nails all are healthy from more fat and protein in my diet.

Remember, low-carb is a way of life - not a short term fix. You didn't get to the weight you are now overnight and it's actually better in the long run if the weight comes off slowly. You will be developing good eating habits and when you reach your goal weight, you will be able to maintain it.

Stick with it! I know you and I - all of us - can get there together!

If you are doing healthy things for your body, the scale will have to cooperate eventually!! Usually on low-carb, either the inches are coming off or the scale is moving - you almost never get both at the same time. If the inches are coming off, then you will eventually see the scale move too - just hang in there!!

Could be the scale.

I bought a new one that is digital and suppose to be great. YEAH. I can gain and lose 3 to 5 lbs by stepping on and off the thing. Moving it around the bathroom results in all kinds of unique weights. This was a rip off My old dial scale worked a LOT better.
