C.Ann, I hope that Nichole has answers soon and on her way to recovery,
My prayers are with you all.

I remember my older dd had a blocked bile duct and it enlarged the liver and messed her up big time. We did not know, the doctor had a wait and see attitude, buy the next day her urine was like blood and she was yellow.

THe pain medication had slowed the dump and blocked, ended up in liver failure, so I am glad that although dd has to go to ER it is better then ending up in the AM with something out of control and more difficult to treat.

So sorry to hear your DD is going through this!

I will give you another perspective on the "don't wait until tomorrow" scenerio. It could just be because if you wait until tomorrow, your doctor's office would have to get a CT authorized with the insurance company and that could take several days. THEN go through the whole process all over again in order to get an MRI authorized. Since it is Thursday I'm sure they don't want her to suffer all weekend with the pain, and the only way to bypass getting all those authorizations is to have the procedures done either in the ED or as an inpatient. So that could be the sole reason why they wanted her seen in the ED instead of waiting, or at least I hope so!

Any word on Nicole? Hope she had a restful night and the drs soon have some answeres. We're going out of town for the week-end this a.m., but will ck back before leaving. Keeping you all in my prayers C.Ann. I know what it's like to be concerned over our babies.
