23 days to go and having doubts!

Jchiz

Hope all your planning worked out!

I was up till 2am, all hyped up, booking my FPs.

I go every year at spring break, but this year I was so overwhelmed. Getting too old for this????? I hope not.

I left a pot of water boiling on the stove while I was discussing the options with my travel partner 14 year old daughter!!!

Yikes.

Did not realize it till I smelled the empty pot.

The pot was dry as a bone.

Then I was so worked up, trying to get my days in order before I had to choose fastpasses.

I ended up being up till after midnight, so just did it all in one foul swoop!!!!!!!!!!!! OOPS, maybe that is fowl, well ya'll get me.

Funny how this stuff can drive us so nuts, but that is half the fun/I think?!

My planning this year is not the most efficient use of time. In the past we would go, go, go. Everything was seemless.

My very smart daughter has always pointed out to me, that we needed to slow it down and enjoy more.

I need to just remember to sit down once in a while! Logged over 69,000 steps on my fitbit last trip.

Good luck with your planning and hope you have a wonderful time with your family!

Thank you for all the great responses, I think my anxiety has reached its peak and is on the down swing lol looks like we will be keeping the hoppers, even if it is just for a 1/2 day at EPCOT, and I will consider more carefully the next time. In the end, I think everyone has different priorities while in The World and I think my plan will work well for us!(with a few adjusts lol and some flexibility)

If you just go with the mind set to have fun, and go with the flow you will be fine. Our first trip with our just turned four year old son many years ago had a complete wrench thrown in it when the very first day at MK he took one look at Mickey Mouse and started crying. These were not tears of joy but shear terror! He was terrified of them all except the "face" ones (Snow White, Belle etc.). Back then they roamed the parks a lot more than now and we always had to be on the look out to avoid them. We all laugh at it now but we just had to change plans and go with it! Now the dark rides and coasters he loved including Splash Mt. and I thought they would scare him. Have fun on your first of I'm sure many Disney adventures.
I could have written this post! DD was just over 4 years when we went and all plans we made were out the window as soon as she freaked out at all characters except "face" ones!

I had to laugh! Doesn't it seem like they are stalking you around the park when you are trying to avoid them at all costs? It's a great memory now and we did have one of the best pixie dusts moments on our last day of the trip when we went to the character breakfast at the WL that featured Pocahontas and friends. It was the only one we did and John Smith came over and sat with my son and talked with him for a long time. When we told him of my sons fear he went over to Meko(sp? the raccoon) and after speaking with him he brought him over and introduced him to my son. They were talking so softly between them that I couldn't hear it all but whatever John Smith said worked because within a min. or two they were all talking like old friends with hugs and high fives. Now my first thought was were the h*ll were you at the start of our vacation, but we got this all on video and it was just so wonderful! I get teary eyed just thinking about it. All these years later we are still returning, and maybe someday it will be with grandkids.

If you are going to keep the Park Hopper, I would consider going to Disney Studios and then Epcot the second day. See something new with your son rather than going back to Magic Kingdom. The boat ride from the Studios to Epcot is very relaxing and pleasant. So those two parks are great to hop between. Keep in mind, you will most likely have a lot of future trips with your son. He will see Magic Kingdom many times (I can't even remember how many times we have taken our girls who are now in their twenties, and we are taking them again in March). The Toy Story ride at the Studios and the Muppets 3D movie are cute. And the Bugs Life play area was a big hit when mine were little. Anyway, just another opinion. When we 'hop' we like to do it between those two parks since they are so close together.
