I always thought it was caps that was shouting, not bold.

As for your insurance, if you make an appointment with an ophthalmologist, if you are covered by physician's, you might well be covered by them. Many are not covered by optometrists but are by ophthalmologists, which is what you should see in any case with your symptoms. Has anyone mentioned a cataract to you? At your age, that is a real possibility.

..But, you said you were familiar with CBT (unless maybe you didn't delve that deeply into it), so there's a "better" way of dealing with this kind of issue than I would have in the past..

Hmm..I don't think I ever publicly talked about CBT. I believe that was in a private message, since it was about someone I wouldn't talk about on a public board. If I did, I shouldn't have.

I wasn't suggesting you google or try to self diagnose, but that perhaps your insurance would pay for an ophthalmologist, as most do, if they cover physicians and specialists, although you did say the heck with the cost so I guess it wouldn't matter in any case. Sounds like you should try to get in soon, so that would be a worry behind you.

You're right C.Ann, good girl for not over analyzing your eye issues :). It could simply be eye strain if you need stronger glasses. My DH's get those squiggly lines and spots (last 20-30 min) as past 10 yrs he's get occassional Ocular migraines, which luckily are not painful. My last eye exam I was diagnosed with a cataract. Dr says it's just beginning stages, so do not even think about it for a several more years. Ahhh, you gotta love the joys of golden years....
sure beats the alternative tho! Good luck! :goodvibes

You could also try this: go to view at the top of your page, look for the zoom option and zoom in. That will enlarge the text without really changing settings like you found before. It works great and will probably help more then changing the color.

I don't know about C.Ann, but the font size of your post was hard for me to read. :confused3

Thx, I indeed apologize and have corrected. :guilty:

When trying to find a color comparable to hers, I must have hit wrong font size.

Sorry C.Ann! :grouphug:

No need to apologize. :flower3: I've seen your posts before and I know they're usually in an easier to read font. I thought you might have been testing out a new one and didn't realize it was smaller.

Just a PSA:

Eye doctors for a potential eye issue (cataracts, glaucoma, retinal detachment etc) are usually covered, as long as it is an opthalmologist and not an optometrist or optician doing the diagnosing.

New glasses, routine eye testing etc. are generally not covered by most insurances.

It becomes "white" print on a very dark royal blue.. The "white" print is easier for me to read against the contrast of the royal blue.. As I said earlier, "white" seems to be very important with whatever is going on with my eyes.. Contrast seems to be extremely important in order for me to be able see clearly right now.. It's very strange and not easy to deal with...

There is a High Contrast feature on your computer that you might want to try out. It actually makes the print stand out by altering the background & the type.

Chick the START button in the lower left corner, Click SETTINGS, then CONTROL PANEL. Click on ACCESSIBILITY OPTIONS. (Depending on how your computer is set up, it may have a Wheel chair icon.) Click DISPLAY and check the USE HIGH CONTRAST box.

Your eye problems may not be an "eye problem" actually. It may be a symptom for another ailment. Do you have diabetes or high blood pressure? Unchecked diabetes can cause eye problems. When you get the diabetes handled, the eye problem goes away.
