I wanted to take my son to Vegas for his 21st birthday he however wants to go to Disneyland. Being that it is such a milestone what things can and should I look into to make it extra special. A few of the details. We have been a number of times though his last trip was in October of 2015. The trip will be after his birthday looking at 10-15 through 10-19. He wants to stay onsite. Other then that I have nothing. Help!

How special? $$$$$$

Dinner or a Lunch at Blue Bayou $$
Dinner at Carthay Circle with Drinks $$$
Dinner at Napa Rose or Steakhouse 55 with drinks $$$$

Definitely hit Cove Bar (possibly do a "Drink around DCA")
Definitely hit Trader Sam's

Is he interested in doing a tour? Possibly a WOC Dessert Party?

i don't think they've announced dates for the halloween party, but that's an option if you can swing the extra expense for tickets.

We love love love the Halloween party so that is on the list. I always forget about some of the sit down restaurants since we are typically go and not stop to sit for food, this would be the perfect time to relax and experience some of them.

As for our budget I am more $$$ since it appears we are moving to Phoenix in August and so that is going to hurt just a bit.

Halloween party would be fun. Carthay Circle has tasty drinks. We had breakfast at Steakhouse 55 recently and there was a nice list of breakfast cocktail options. Of course, letting staff know it's his bday anywhere you go and getting him a button would be fun.

If you are doing just one special sit-down meal I would say do Carthay Circle. You don't even have to leave the park and they serve drinks!

If you can squeeze two Table Service Meals in I would recommend Blue Bayou if you haven't been before!

Carthay Circle and Blue Bayou are now on the list. Love it. Since he wants to stay at the Disneyland hotel Steakhouse 55 for breakfast sounds good. I am hoping if we do the Halloween party he will be up for a family themed costume. Though that may be a bit much for him.

I took my daughter for her first drink on her birthday to Rainforest Cafe. I thought it was a good start since we have gone there many times before.

The Disneyland Hotel's coffee shop now has Dole floats with rum and Trader Sam's is a fun place to get something to eat and drink.

I did enjoy my dinner at Carthay Circle. You can check the menu online ahead of time to see if it looks like something he would like. They change the menu every season. Steakhouse 55 is a nice place to go have a quieter meal and they also have a lounge that looks really good.

World of Color dessert party is a nice way to sit at the end of the day and watch the show.

If you want to do the whole "now 21" thing then you simply must go to Trader Sam's. It is probably the best bar I have ever visited, and I have been to a TON of bars. Last time I was there another patron was having a 21st birthday and the bartenders did it up for them.

For the easiest time getting in, line up outside the doors around 10:30 to 10:45, and plan for an early lunch from their exotic menu. The bar is fun all day, but the daytime sees a lot of families with little kids. If you really want to go for the full experience, go in the late afternoon (just hang around until you see seats open up, it's annoying but eventually you'll get a spot) and plan to stay until the evening. The place fills with adults and it gets quite rowdy. If that is your thing, it's worth the pain of vulturing for seats. I really wish they would set up a host stand and hand out buzzers, but it's still totally worth it.

You can order a custom cake to be delivered to a TS restaurant. Do a search for the cake thread on this forum for photos and information. That might be a nice surprise for him.

Love these ideas. I am for sure going to Trader Sam's it is nice to know it gets a little rowdier in the evening, I love that. I am super excited and am also looking at the Disneyland Bar Crawl how have I never seen this before?!? He really is my son to pick Disneyland over Vegas for his 21st. Love it.

We just did the WOC Dessert Party and it definitely felt "special". It'd be great to celebrate a milestone, bonus you get 2 drinks with it.

Completely agree with The Cove Bar and Trader Sam suggestions!

Thanks for the tip on checking the menus. I will have him do that and see what he likes. I have the WOC dessert party on our list. I am so excited and only wish it were not so far away.

Trader Sam's is AMAZING! And you really should check out Carthay Circle Lounge too--
