Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone could help me? We're going to Florida for the first two weeks of June and it will be my 21st birthday while we're over there. As I won't be at home celebrating with my friends I'd like to do something special whilst on holiday instead.

Does anyone have any ideas?! I'm already planning to pick up a birthday badge from Guest Serivces. I should also point out that I don't really drink so a big drinking tour of Epcot is out of the question!

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Sorry i dont know what to suggest but have a fantastic time x x

ooo i will also be there for the first 2 weeks of June =) where r u staying? x

i spent my 21st out there but i'm a big tigger and pooh fan so we had dinner at crystal palace in magic kingdom, this year for my 27th we had breakfast at chef mickeys

If you like to go out for meals? You could try and book the chefs table at Victoria & Alberts. I have not done it but it sounds amazing and I'm sure they would make it extra special for you if you let them know it's your 21st! I'm sure someone could post more information on it if it's something your interested in?

You could always do one of the firework cruises - illuminations or wishes.

I did Chef Mickeys for my 40th ! What's your appetite like ?

Phil

Thanks for your replies everyone! I think we're going to try and book a special dining experience.

So far we're thinking about the California Grill or a character breakfast in one of the parks. By having brekfast in one of the parks, it will mean we'll be one of the first groups into the park which should be quite special!

I presume that if I say we will be celebrating a Birthday they might be nice enough to sprinkle some pixie dust and decorate the table a little with confetti or something?!

I am going to be there the first 2 weeks of June as well hehe, Where is everybody staying?

I would suggest one of the nicer restaurants that are around as well. Maybe go on one of the carraige rides at POR, or FW one evening with family.

Is there nothing in mind that you would really like to do?

I'm sure if wherever you do decide to go, if you let them know it's your 21st they will make it special for you.

I've never posted on here before, but couldn't resist as my son had his 13th brithday at the Swan so I wanted to make it extra special for him. We wanted an action packed day to remember and that's exactly what we got!
We started with presents and a cake in the room - I ordered the cake from the boardwalk and it was fabulous, mickey shaped, cheap and really tasty. Next we went to Boma for breakfast which is always a favourite of ours. We took a cab from there to International Drive for a helicopter ride over Disney. This was amazing, it all looks so close and you could even see the waves at Typhoon Lagoon. Seeing Epcot - and the whole of Disney - from above really gives a different perspective. After this we got a cab to The Contemporary and booked a boat for 5 people. My son went water ski-ing and tubing - both of which he had never done - and he loved them both (one thing though, there can be small alligators in there. This, of course I didn't tell him until he got out!) After all this we were all a little pooped so we went back for a nap in our room.
Once refreshed, showered and changed we went for a lovely meal in the California Grill and watched Wishes from the roof terrace. What more could you ask for of a memorable day and if all this sounds a little expensive just remember the exchange rate is really good at the moment.
Your'e only 21 once so go for it and have a fabulous day!:wizard:

Hi Jayne! Sounds like your son had a very special and memorable birthday! I've been lucky enough to fly over Disney property during a previous trip as my dad has a private pilot's license so we hired a small plane for an afternoon. I love the idea of going to the Contemporary for some water sports - not so sure about the alligators though! I think we're also goign to book Chef Mickey's for breakfast and possibly also the California Grill (perhaps not for the same day though!). I think that although I don't really drink I could be persuaded to have a sneaky glass of champagne in France, Epcot!!

Hey Topsy I celebrated my 21st in Orlando 18 months ago and it was amazing. We went to Discovery Cove and were there from 8am-6pm and had the most magical, amazing and memorable time, I have such wonderful memories and wouldn't change it for the world. We had a lovely continental breakfast followed by a few hours snorkeling with the tropical fish, feeding the rays and sunbathing. We then had our dolphin swim and my Mum had booked a surprise birthday package and the doplhin brought me a bouy saying Happy Birthday and 'sang' to me. As we got out of the water I was met by a lady who handed me a gift bag with a souvenir t.shirt, waterproof camera and DVD of the event. I also got to pick a free photo. We had a gorgeous lunch with a reserved table by the steel band who sung for me and a lovely big birthday cake. Then we spent the rest of the afternoon snorkelling, feeding birds and enjoying the free beer and wine coolers. It was perfect. Then for the evening we went to the Aloha Dinner Show at the Polynesian Resort which fitted perfectly and was brilliant -great food and entertainment. As we left we got to see Wishes from the Poly beach and then back to the room to be greeted by a card from Mickey and a bit of cake before bed.

Hope you have a fab day whatever you do... you are in the best place to celebrate in style. xxx

Wow Ariel, that sounds like the perfect birthday! I completely forgot about Discovery Cove, I'm going to look into it now! The good news is that I'll be living in Florida for a year from December so can do the things you've all suggested then if I don't get to do them for my birthday!! : D
