My DD will turn 21 on Monday. (How did my baby get that old! :guilty: )

She goes to art school, and a group of them are on a bus trip to New York City, left today, and come back home on Monday. She's excited to be celebrating the big one in her favorite place, and sort of a mecca for artists.

That got me thinking, do any of you have fun, memorable stories about turning the big 21?

i just turned 21 in october..didnt do anything too exciting-my friends and family and i all went out to dinner ...and then the next day, my mom and aunt took me to atlantic city and we did the price is right stage show and i ended up winning a couple hundred dollars from that!

I got a tattoo .. but I am sure that is not what your dd to do :rotfl2:

I hope she has a great birthday!

My daughter is going to be 21 in July. My mom is taking her on a cruise. It will be her first cruise. In September I will be taking her to Las Vegas. We have planned that since she was 15. I think your 21 birthday is a big deal.

I suppose it was memorable. I was in college at the time and had a full day of classes. I had to sing in a recital that evening and then go to my SAI meeting after that. It was a long day and my BF took me to a local restaurant after my meeting and my voice teacher met us there and she bought me a drink....:)

My brother had a cool turning 21 experience. I was married in Vegas 2 days before his 21st birthday. The night before then, we were hanging out in the casino, where I was playing a slot machine and he was seated next to me in front of another machine. He was checking his watch for the stroke of midnight and when it happened, he dropped money in the machine in front of him and hailed a cocktail waitress. LOL...It was priceless.

I turned 21 in Dec 2005.

This is what happened:
-Woke up in ASMo by my BF wearing one of those birthday cake hats and holding a Disney-made birthday cake.
-Opened cards, ate some cake, etc.
-Went to Typhoon Lagoon during the day (cold - even for a Brit! - but fun).
-Went to H+V and Fantasmic! in the evening.
It was quite nice :goodvibes:

For my 18th (which is also considered a major birthday over here) I just went to Pizza Hut with my two closest friends (one of them being my BF now*). My ex had broken up with me a few weeks before when he was in Ireland (he was in the Army) and had decided to phone my mobile during the early hours to tell me that he didn't want anything to do with me, so I woke up to a lovely voicemail on my birthday. Later on he sheepishly phones me up to ask me how my birthday was and to tell me that he was stuck in the airport** (as I was going to pick him up before we broke up - we had been engaged).
I actually really enjoyed my 18th though - despite all the drama!

Oh, and for my 16th birthday (another important one!) I went out clubbing for the first time with some older male friends (I know, young - but that's how it is over here).

OK! No more birthday stories!!

:bday: Hope your DD has a great time! :bday:

*and I had been falling head over heals with him for 6 months before my ex and I broke up - we got together about two weeks later, and are still going strong :sunny:
**I didn't go pick him up :rotfl2: (he didn't help his case by telling me that he already had a new GF).

My family and my best friend and I went to Las Vegas for my 21st birthday. It was a lot of fun, because I grew up going out there w/my family a lot, never able to gamble. I think I won $600 on my trip too!

My BFF had a surprise party for me. My one & only surprise party. We had the typical 1980's party. Keg of Beer, Rianite Lambrusco ,a pool table & some really good tunes. Back than it did'nt really get much better than that. I don't think we even had food! :rotfl2:

Honestly, not really. I turned 21 on Christmas Day in 2001 and I was celebrating the day with my family in NY (I was living in NJ at that time). I went home early enough so that I could go to a bar with my roommate and have my first round of drinks at a bar. Later that week we went to a club and all of my friends bought drinks for me...I've never been so sick in all my life! :crazy2:

My 21st birthday was actually just a couple weeks ago. It was over my spring break, so my friends were gone. I pretty much just celebrated with my family. It was fine though. I'm really not one to go out to the bars at midnight on my birthday to go drink (unlike my cousin did).

I went out and got drunk and had my friend pierce my nose at home. I ended up passing out (still unclear whether it was from pain or the booze). I remember it yes, but was it memorable? Not really. :smokin:

At least I didn't get naked and dance on pool tables or anything. :teeth:

BTW, whenever I see your Ballet Mom picture I always read it as Bullet Mom and it takes me a second to realize it is Ballet Mom. :lmao: The first time it took me more than a second to realize it and I was like "Huh? Bullet Mom??" :teeth:

I went to a bar with some friends the night before, and drank soda until midnight. I don't remember much after that. On my birthday I went to class, and was on my way to work when I stopped to rest. I sat down, leaned up against a tree and took a little snooze. I was awoken by someone I worked with who said it was probably best I didn't go to work that day.

College was a blast!

I have great memories, but none I'd share on a public message board. lol.

happy birthday to your daughter!

I turned 21 four days before my wedding. So I'd say I had one heck of a birthday party!!! Plus, not that I drink alot, but at least at my wedding and on my honeymoon I got to drink legally.

Happy birthday to your daughter, 21 is a great age.

LOL! I got pregnant with my oldest DS! I wouldn't recommend it to your DD though!!

I went to Las Vegas for my 21st. Vegas Baby! It was a great time. I had been to Vegas before, but those previous visits were with my fake ID. And I have kept going back there ever since.

My DD turned 21 last June. I counted down the days by giving her a present a day. Some were small like bubble bath, candy, make up, about the 10th day I didn't leave it out in the morning before I went to work and she was waiting for me when I got home :rotfl:

I also took her to Las Vegas in August, it was a girls only trip, my cousin came and her DD21 and her neice 21. It was really a great trip :thumbsup2

I'm so old the "big one" was considered 18! LOL.
That's how I was, at 18 I could drink legally. At 21 I was married and about 6 months pregnant with my first.

My ds turned 21 on March 10th and for his birthday, we took him to dinner at Morimoto in NYC, one of the Iron chefs from the Food Network. My son loves the Iron Chefs and this was a thrill for him. He got an autographed menu from Morimoto and had the chefs choice, which is a 9 course meal prepared by Morimoto himself. We live here in NY but don't go into the city for dinner much, but this was a fun night out. The food was amazing here, everything was delicious. The next night we had all our family and friends over to the house for a party.
