DAY 7 - Disney Hollywood Studios - Yak N Yeti

Another early get up today, so that we could make the EMH opening at Disney Hollywood Studios. I, like many others, still refer to this as MGM. We entered the park at 07:55, I made my way near to the front of the rope, whilst Sue and Emma had a stroll to Tower of Terror. On the strike of 8:00, the rope dropped and it was a very brisk walk, behind cast members, together with a few hundred other guests towards the Toy Story Mania fast pass machines. 5 minutes later and 3 fast passes, I made my way back over to TOT, were Sue and Emma were waiting at the entrance.

It was deserted and we had to wait a good 5 minutes to fill the waiting room. There has been some modifications to the ride since last year, one being where the passengers in your elevator car, are projected in front of you, and some of them fade away!. The drop sequences have also changed again. On exiting the ride, the standby line was now 30 minutes. Sue and Emma chickened out of Rock N Roller coaster, saying it was too fierce the previous time that they rode it, so they collected some TOT fast passes while I went on RNR.

Again we had started the day without breakfast, so a visit to Starring Rolls was the next port of call.
Emma: Chocolate muffin + Orange Juice
Sue: Cherry Danish + Orange juice
Nigel: Bagel + Apple juice (Bagel was dry and stale!)
Our FP’s were valid now, so we made our way back to TOT. The queue was very long and I felt a little guilty just strolling past the long line. After, we headed for TSM, again to use the fast passes.

This is still a very popular ride, and by now, the fast passes for the whole day had all gone. During all of our previous visits, we had never got to see Sorcerer Mickey, so to save time, we went through the exit of Animators Studio. The queue was about 10 minutes to meet Mickey and also the bear from Toy Story 3 was available for photographs as well as the Incredibles.

Next, a short walk across to American Idol. Again we timed this just perfect as we were able to walk straight into the theatre just as the show was about to start. On exiting, the sun was blazing so we had some waffle cone ice creams to cool off.

As we made our way over to the Great Movie Ride the characters were just appearing around the Sorcerers hat. Emma had pictures taken with Stitch, Donald and Daisy.

We then went on the Great Movie Ride, the lines again for this were very short so we didn’t have to watch the film sequence over and over again!
We decided to go back to OKW for a few hours in the pool. We were joined 30 minutes later by Wayne, Karen and Matt. We left the pool around 3.45 p.m. to get ready for tonight’s ADR at Yak & Yeti in Animal Kingdom. Service was good and we were seated quite quickly.
