And that's basically how my wife and I ended up sitting in the Comfort Inn in Lake Buena Vista on our 20th anniversary. We left from Rock Hill, SC yesterday about 11 and, with the exception of some busy roads around Brunswick, GA and Jacksonville, FL, had a fairly easy trip down. We checked into the hotel and then headed to Seasons 52 for supper.

While we have made the trip to the world 4 times with our daughters (17,13), this is our first trip by ourselves. Today it's EPCOT for the day, then Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at MK tonight. We are both VERY excited.

BTW - the forecast for Baltimore today is a high of 38, low of 25. Even with a chance of rain, I'll take the 72/64 at the World.

The day started cool and clear. After breakfast from McDonald's, we headed to Epcot. Since we are only going to be here for two days, we decided to get a 2-day, no park hopper pass. After pulling into our parking space (Amaze 33), we headed to the gate to pick up our park pass and our Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party tickets at will call. The lady at will call was especially nice and laughed with us about our change of anniversary plans and gave us our "Happy Anniversary" pins.

This is our fifth trip to Disney. The first three (2005,06,07) were all in December. The fourth was in October of this year. One of the things we missed during our October trip was the Christmas decorations. So it was awesome to see the Mickey & Minnie topiaries with their Santa hats on. WooHoo!! We're in Disney. :yay:

We headed to Soarin', our favorite ride at Epcot. The crowds were definitely lighter than in October. Of course, I fastpassed it on the way in and then we headed onto the standby line. After Soarin' we headed over to ride Figment. Playing around with our pictures from the photo lab after Figment was fun. DW ended up looking like a kitty cat while I ended up looking kinda piratey.

Then it was back to use our first Soarin' FP. The standby line was up to 40 minutes. Because the crowds were so light, I was able to FP it again on our way in. We got to ride front and center. Did I tell you that I love Soarin'?

We debated on going to Finding Nemo or Spaceship Earth and decided on SE. When we got to SE, the line was kinda long and we decided to pass for now and go to Ellen's Universe of Energy. It's been three years since EUE so I remember very little. Not sure when they shot the video for that but both DW and I were surprised at how young Ellen looks.

When we sat down in the traveling theater, a little girl (probably about 5yo) behind DW tapped her on the shoulder and very politely asked her to move because she couldn't see. I think her parents were very embarrassed but it was very cute.

The weather was still holding out. It was cloudy and a little windy but I was comfortable in shorts and a long sleeve T. After EUE, we decided it was time for some lunch and a trip to the World Showcase. Lunch in France awaited.
