The Oasis ships are wider so there's more water pushing back against the ship when wind blows against it, and that increased water resistance does a lot to negate the wind, so wider ships have more "grip" and less "yaw." My limited understanding is that ratios of height to beam matter, hence why the wider but taller Wish still can be more difficult to dock in higher winds than slightly more narrow and shorter Dream. The Wish class technology with balance is more helpful at sea than in Port. And also, anecdotal but I've heard that Disney has a lower wind threshold what they are comfortable docking than
Royal Caribbean.
That said, it's not I think Wish is unsafe for Galveston as much as I think Disney has better options that can check boxes to both carry more passengers and be new to port to attract repeat cruisers who have tried the Magic.
