2026 MMB info Announced

If you buy the 2026 MMB now, can you use the BOGO OTUPs now or do you have to wait until Jan. 1st? I was thinking it was the latter, but maybe they'll let you buy them now.

I read it as only from when it activates from 1st January but I haven’t actually asked or tried.

I bought it and hoping it’s before Jan 1st. There is a trip i am planning in July that would be really nice to use them for, when booking at 7 month window.
It's extremely clear that benefits don't start until January 1.

Am I correct that they still haven't fixed the issue where the second named member (usually the spouse) on a membership cannot receive benefits when traveling without the member who purchased MMB?
It is still my understanding only the person who bought MMB can use the benefit. The other person would need to buy it for themselves to utilize it.

My understanding was that was a feature and not a bug, so to speak, of MMB. Where it can potentially become a feature is that both you and your spouse can buy MMB, and then you could each use the BOGO OTUPs as long as they were in different UYs or different memberships.

This is annoying and I wish they would clarify. The website says the special priced park tickets are for the traveling party but the fine print of the pdf says they have to be in your immediate family household.

Don’t worry - it will not automatically activate. We’ve done 2 trips this year since buying MMB and still have not activated the Memory Maker credit.

You can save it for later, I’m just not sure when it will expire. It might expire by the end of 2025 but there is a slight possibility they may still honor it later. I’m curious to see what happens.
Where do you find the memory maker credit on the My Disney Experience AP?

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the original wording of the DL and WDW special priced tickets (for 2025) say that the user of the tickets must be listed on your contracts? Because now I see it says they just have to be part of your traveling party. Am I remembering that wrong or was it always that way?
Always that way.

Celebrating another year of not having to shell out $$ for "benefits". No MMB for us!

(For those that it works for, however, more power to you! We just have zero use for OTUP and it makes one a bit jaded to have to pay to access the lounges. For that, I very much dislike MMB)...

The OTUP is the only reason why I buy it. We're using our points to buy our sorcerer passes next year since we're local and don't have as much need for the lodging even though we didn't use it on that this past year. We used it to book a bungalow for the wedding night :P It's just easier than renting out points and dealing with taxes and etc. The priority access for the lounges was also quite nice the one time we did use it for McKim's Mile House during the week of our wedding although we haven't used it since then but it's a nice extra. If I weren't buying the OTUP though I wouldn't bother with MMB.

99+240 for MMB and OTUP. 10% off from using Disney gift cards brings it down to 305.1 so 305.1/24 = 12.71 per point essentially.

Cost of sorcerer renewal after tax is 987. Giving it the 10% off from using gift cards is 888.3 Cost in points to exchange is 65. 888/65= 13.66 dollars per point value to renew.

So basically if you're going to exchange points for a pass, you might as well buy the OTUP to supplement it. If not, don't bother.

It would be nearly impossible to not benefit from BOGO OTUP even if you don't need them. One DVC point is worth about $40 of rack rate, so OTUP are a steal even at full price. BOGO OTUP is Disney giving you $40 of value for $10.

This was definitely a bit of a bummer during our trip two weeks ago. Husband and I split up at MK and he wanted to check out the lounge. There was a long wait; he asked about MMB; they reminded him that since I was the member who had purchased MMB I needed to be with him to take advantage of the lounge line benefit. Which seems pretty darned ridiculous, IMO, when we are co-owners of the membership.

Now, I purchased MMB for the Memory Maker and OTUP, so anything else is gravy. But still.

(The funny thing is, when I had originally told my husband about the line skipping benefits of MMB, he scoffed and said, "I'm NEVER going to use that." LOL. Eating his words. Eh, we're new members. Much to learn about how we relate to and feel about membership.)

Anywho...I'm sure someone theorized or explained it here at some point, but I don't understand why MMB wouldn't apply to the whole membership and not just one single member. Sigh.

What if one were banking over 500 points into 2027?
Even better, because then you're giving another year for inflation to work its magic on rack rates, making those banked points even more valuable.

Financially, the most prudent thing to do would be to buy your full allotment of OTUP every year, use those first, and bank any extra current-year points into future years. Bank until you can't bank no more. Then when you have so many banked points that you're not able to use them before they expire, rent them out to clear the glut. You'll probably only get $20 per point for your rental instead of the $40 equivalent value from using the points, but it's still better than the $10 you paid.

I understand not wanting to deal with the hassle of rental, that's certainly fair. But it's not optimal from a dollars-and-cents perspective. MMB shouldn't net-cost anyone money.

Don’t forget the Aulani print that is new this year!

Nah, don’t see any need to purchase points that I don’t need. I think the plan is to bank this year’s points and use them next year, perhaps for an Aulani GV!
