2025 Wine and Dine

Has anyone here stayed at the Dolphin for Wine and Dine and not had a car?
I'm in the fortunate situation where I don't think I've ever had to rely on a Disney bus for a RunDisney race. I stayed at Shades of Green in 2021 for Wine and Dine and walked to the start (my absolute favorite!), I stayed at a hotel near the start/finish line for the Disneyland half weekend last year so I also walked, and I stayed at the Poly for Dopey this year with a car so I drove to the 5K and 10K and took the monorail for the half and full. I feel like this has skewed my perception of how long I need to allot to get to races 😆
I'm staying at the Dolphin for Wine and Dine this year and wondering how long the bus takes to get to the race. Is it typical to wait a while for a bus to show up?
I only stay at the Dolphin for race weekends and will be there for Princess again in a few weeks. It does not take long to get to EPCOT and busses have run consistently. I try to take one the first busses so I can take my time, take pics w characters, etc. If the same woman (her name is Clover) is assisting by the convention center bus pickup, she is a wealth of information and has helped me plan my race mornings for a while now. Clover has also helped my husband with the timing of spectator busses so I always go and confirm times with her. Expo busses are always plentiful from the Dolphin we well.

For after the race I have never waited for a return bus back to the Dolphin. I love staying at the Dolphin for all my race weekends and have always been extremely happy with the transportation. See you there 👍

PS: just registered for the 2025 Wine & Dine Half Marathon!! 😊

Unless my memory has failed, they’ve added a faster time for the 10K. I’ve always checked under 8 minutes, now there is an under 7 option. Wondering if the backlash from the 8-10 corralling issues at MW are being addressed. Not the way to do it, people will just say they are fast. Should use POT for 10K as well

No matter, I’ll stay at 8/mile
In for the challenge
This only works if they require POT for <7 min. It's only a few dozen racers and they're definitely gunning for time, so it would make a lot of sense to do that. But this is RD, so if they don't require POT for this it will go poorly and you'll have people who have no intention of maintaining that pace.

My original post still stands because it's in the same area, but I actually switched resorts to Beach Club for the weekend because I was able to snag a DVC reservation and it wound up being cheaper than the Dolphin!

Was there a different time option for the half? I am planning on doing about 9ish minute miles for the 10K so won't choose that option. I am hoping to be in corral A for the half with my 1:49 POT so there aren't long lines for the character stops and I can maintain about 9 minute miles with the characters stops. I doubt I'll be in corral A if there's a 7-8 minute mile corral because I don't think I can improve my half marathon by that much by May lol.

The longer races go by a total finish time estimate, with 2:30 or under requiring POT. These are the options for the W&D Half:

Note that if you're in a hurry to register, you can choose the longer time and then go back in a few days after registration and change that to add your POT.

Oh, yeah, duh. I completely forgot about that lol. I wonder if adding the extra slots will change the formula for the half POT though.

If they're listing a pace estimate for <7 min in the 10k they might do something similar for POTs in the half. Not sure how they would designate them but you'd basically be peeling away a few dozen elite runners here, rather than bucketing them with the rest of A. From what I understand they sort of do this already? But it would be clearer in this case and more open to competitors.

Of course, again, if they leave things open with the 10k (no POT) they're going to get a lot more than the elite runners!

Rookie question here but can someone share the link for where we will register so I can get my acct info all set up prior to go time? I can't recall where we went to register when I last did one of these a few years ago but every second counts and I'll be trying to register 4 of us for the Half (if that's still allowed?) Thanks....everyone here is so helpful!

Manage.runDisney.com is where you will set up your account. It will use the same login that you use for all the rest of Disney's websites/apps

@The Expert already got it, seems exactly as it’s always been. I have no idea why they would put an estimated pace as fast as sub 7 for the 10. Curious if they do for the 5 as well. I would expect a 1:49 half to still be in A corral. Guess we’ll find out any changes in October
And definitely skip that step on registration day to save time and add it later - just don’t forget

Can I can register multiple people (including other adults) thru my account together?
Yes, you can. The race can sell out while you're filling out additional registrations, so if there's anyone in your party that has a stronger desire to run than others, you can fill out and pay for their registration first, and then go in and fill out additional registrations without having to wait through the queue again.

I've registered for the Challenge again. I am thankful for the perfect challenger registration so I don't have to stress out on registration day. I'm really intrigued by the lug backpack, but have used a Loungefly for ages. I just like the idea of having a medal display. I saw some pictures of the Disneyland ones and they looked nice. I'm not sure if I'd preorder though. All the purple is nice. Maybe if the merch is Brooks the sizing won't be completely wonky? But I'm not a Brooks person so don't really have experience with their clothes. (Sadly, their shoes kill my feet!)

You guys ready for tomorrow morning? I've never had an issue registering before, but I am going as part of a girls' trip this time with 3 other ladies who have never done a Disney race so I'm a little nervous that they aren't taking registration as seriously as I've warned them lol. I've already rented DVC points so I'll be there for the weekend whether or not I get in haha!

If it is a situation that you're all doing the race or none of you are, I would just take the responsibility to register all three of you. The risk you take is that it will sell out before you get all three registrations entered, but if the key is all-or-none, then you don't have to worry about what they do and you won't risk one or two of you getting in without the others.

Another alternative is anyone who doesn't get in goes the charity registration route and you all help fundraise together.
