When does Universal typically release their AP blockout dates for the next year? I'm thinking of buying a Power Pass but on their website it only lists blockout dates until the end of the year. The dates listed for this year are:

Power Annual Pass:
January 1–3, 2021
March 27–April 10, 2021
December 18–31, 2021

We usually do a trip in May and the Universal app is showing all of Jan through mid-July blocked out for Power Pass for 2022. The Universal site doesn't show anything. I'm hoping this is an app glitch but just wondering if the dates are usually the same from year to year. Thanks in advance!

Those blockout dates make no sense. There shouldn't be any blockout dates at that time. Use the website dates instead. They will be very similar from year to year.

It cam be annoying how late they are to post these types of dates. Agree with damo, estimate based on 2021. Easter was April 4 this year, so those dates are the week before & after. It's April 17 in 2022.

Ugh I'm going to universal Jan 4-6, 2022 and want to get a seasonal pass for the hotel discount but it's right on the edge of the dates from 2021 so I don't feel comfortable without the official dates. Does anyone know when they *might* release them? It's really stressing me out because I want to get things booked.

Worth looking into -
book an AP resort rate when they come out
buy a regular 2 or 3 day ticket
on your 2nd or 3rd day, upgrade to a seasonal AP at guest services (you don't need to show the AP when checking in, just sometime during your stay.)

Unfortunately, if for some reason they extend the AP blockout past Jan 6, this wouldn't work. I don't have historical blockout dates to see what they have been in the past.

Oh great, I didn't know I could do that! And if the dates don't work, I'd need the 3 day ticket anyway, so no loss. Thanks!

I’m curious when they will release these dates too! I need to plan a couple of trips before mid March 2022!!

When do AP resort rates typically come out? I'm looking to plan for a trip end of January 2022.
There is a separate stickied thread in the Universal resorts forum just for AP rates. There is a link on the first post to check rates.

I think some for Nov and Dec just were released. Even after that, rates and available rooms change constantly, for example when rates for my Oct date first came out, there were no standard rooms at the premier resorts included, but eventually they showed up. I'm still checking daily for a better rate.

Generally we book a room and then watch for AP rates to come out to modify or cancel and rebook.

Someone reported on another thread that blockout dates for 2022 (at least thru Aug 15) are now on the app. Looks like seasonal blocked days are Jan 1-3, March 12-19, April 9-16, and all of July so far. Power is the same except not showing blocked for July.

Great! Thanks so much!

There's more seasonal AP blockouts than I thought, the app is showing all Saturdays in Feb and all weekends in March for IOA too.

Nope, now they fixed it to US instead of IOA for Mardi Gras concerts,
