2021 Halloween Time Superthread *September 3-October 31* *Oogie Boogie Bash Returns on Select Nights*

How have waits for Villains Grove been during the first parade? We're planning on watching the second parade, and thought there might be a dip in the lines around that time.

When I went I think the line for Villains Grove was like 55 minutes during the first parade. We walked by and it was all the way back towards Soarin' so they broke it and started lining people up on the other side of the walkway.

How was the dessert party? Did you have good views of the parade? I haven’t seen many reviews yet. We have reservations on Halloween night, but I’m still deciding if I’m going to keep them.

I have seen some mixed reviews for the Dessert Party. We didn't do it. But I would just say if the main reason you want to do it is to get a good view of the parade without camping out, it is probably not necessary. We easily got a good spot 5-10 minutes before. If you want a chair, to have the desserts, or just have the experience then it might be worth it.

Thank you! Did you go to the first or second parade? Any recommendations on which one would be better to watch?

OBB parade experience from this past Sunday: We were originally going to do Villains Grove during the first parade, but ended up watching the first parade. Plenty nof viewing locations standing and sitting (curb) 10 mins prior to start. After the parade, we had a coffee break, did another treat trail and then did Soarin'. After Soarin' we looked at the wait time for Villains Grove and I think wait time said 30 mins. We jumped in line...took turns running over to the Evil Queen treat trail at GRR...maybe took 10-15 mins to get into the Grove.

We went to the second parade and focused on rides and treat trails during the first parade. We easily got a spot right across from the Little Mermaid. I think it was 5 minutes before but it may have been 10 minutes. The parade started late so it's a little foggy. The Headless Horseman came out late and then there was a long wait for the next float. We picked the location because we wanted to be towards the front and as close as possible to Villains Grove. It worked well because after the parade we went right to Villains Grove and walked in within 5 minutes (even though the app said like 40 minutes).

We thought the dessert party was great. We had a great view of the parade (we were seated at a table on the "street" right along the parade route.) As others have said, the parade route is long and you can find a spot if you don't mind standing or sitting on the ground. It was a great way to "relax" (relatively speaking,) sit in actual seats to see the parade, enjoy some desserts (pictures or links to pictures of the desserts were posted earlier in this thread, I believe,) and drinks. Non-alcoholic drinks were all you can drink. There were also 2 cocktails: One with vodka (it was like vodka, cranberry juice, with a few other juices mixed in,) and one with rum (it was rum, blue curacao, with other juices.) Both were good. There was a 2 drink max. on the alcoholic drinks. It's obviously a little pricey, but we thought it was, all-in-all, worth it.

We are so excited for next weekend! We are dressing up as Inside Out characters. My husband will be Anger, I will be Sadness, our 14 year-old daughter will be Joy, and our 2 month old son will be Bing Bong. I am hoping to figure out a way to dress up his stroller so it will look like the wagon with the rainbow coming off the back. He has a costume but we plan to keep him covered in his stroller for the majority of the time since he can’t wear a mask.

Any must-try foods? We are having an early dinner at LL but want to try as many of the seasonal offerings as possible.

My DD and I are doing a last minute trip next weekend. We were planing to be in WDW but changed to DLR due to COVID concerns. We had tickets to the After Hours Halloween event there, but we can’t get them at DLR since they are sold out. I have gotten so many different answers from CMs over the last week about OBB , as I have been throwing this trip together!

We are staying at DLH, but not Club level, and I will ask there when we check in (as in years past, there was very limited same day availability at the resorts). Beyond that, does anyone have any other ideas on how to get two OBB tix for this Sunday?

Just back from my halloween time vacation. The tips I have that worked well for the party we went to on Thursday 9/30 are as follows. Use the entrance from GCH to enter the party, the lines are much shorter. We entered around 5:30 and went directly to the warf and mobile ordered Quesabirria tacos while others waited in the long line. We had another person get a Mac and cheese bread bowl from Boudin and there was no line for walk up. After we headed directly to Guardians monsters after dark, the wait time was 15 mins. After that we did some trick or treat trails with the interactive villans. During the 1st parade we went to webslingers with a 20 minute wait then did more trick or treat trails. We watched the 2nd parade, hit more trick or treat trails and went to villans Grove at the end of the party with a short line. We were told if your in line when 11pm comes they will let you in. We got in line about 10:45 and when we came out the party was over. So I think my plan for Guardians, web slingers and villans Grove worked out perfectly. This year they are only selling party specific merchandise during the party thankfully. I got my pins at the gone hollywood store in Hollywood land. The mummy popcorn buckets were all over on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. They all come out at the same time in both parks at the same time. We got one in DCA at the popcorn stand nearest to gone Hollywood but they also had them at the churro cart near schmoozing. I was alsoable to get a mickey pumpkin pandora charm that they had in Epcot in DL at a jewelry store on main street. Let me know if you have any questions.

One last thing I just remembered they are doing magic shots of oogy boogie at the headless horseman statue. The pics are free as a mobile download on the app also but only during the party.

A few years ago, people were going down to the lobby early morning on the day of to buy tickets. I can't remember if it was 6am or 7am, but there was a time where first come first served tickets were being sold to people staying in the hotel. You may want to ask about that when you check in.

There are a few of us that have been trying to get a first hand report on hotel guest availability. So far the “limited club level availability” is the only first hand report we have received.

While this is not first-hand, I have a good friend who stayed at Paradise Pier (not Club Level) last week and scored two tickets for OBB on September 28.

Went to OBB round 2 with friends last night. We did zero rides and focused on the treat trails (did them all once and some twice), saw the parade twice, went to Villains Grove, took some photopass pictures (so many magic shots!)... operationally, nothing seemed terribly different than my first party on 9/16. Webslingers was really long all three times we went by, but other rides looked short from what we could see. Let me know if anyone has any questions!

Do you know what time Villains Grove is opening now?

I don't, but it wasn't open yet (and didn't look close to opening) when we went by at 7 even though it was getting dark.

We watched the 2nd parade by the Little Mermaid ride and then went over, and even though the line looked long, we were in less than 10 minutes later. We got in about 10:35 and were out at 10:47.
