Planning to visit WDW this summer 7/3-7/9....
Have never been to WDW during that week.
We have only visiting WDW during late July-early August.
What should we expect in terms of crowd and lines?
Will the crowd level be comparable to that of the recent President's Day week/winter break/spring break?
We chose that week because
- never been on property during July 4th
- never been to any festival....

TIA

What festival is going on that week? We are scheduled to be at Disney the same week but are considering canceling and rescheduling for next year when more things are open, no masks, etc. Although if there is a festival that week that interests us maybe we'll state. If we do decide to keep the trip I hope that parades, entertainment and fireworks are back on by then but I'm not sure if that will happen

July 4th is historically a very busy week. I would anticipate the same this year.

According to Touring Plans predictions, it is supposed to be busier on the 4th of July than any of the spring breaks and Easter but again, it is just a prediction.

Looking at historical data, the prediction is it is to be higher crowds than the actual crowds were for President's Day weekend this year.

Pre-Covid it was not too bad crowd wise that week, especially if you avoided MK and Epcot on the actual 4th (which drew a big crowd for the special fireworks). I suspect that summer heat/humidity was a deterrent for a lot of people.

HOWEVER, I think all bets are off this year and it will be extremely crowded. It is just a guess, but I think enough people will be vaccinated by summer that there will be a lot of pent up demand for Disney trips for people who weren't comfortable going earlier in the year or in 2020.

Oddly enough, it seems like the threat of crowds have kept crowds away the past couple years. July 4th has seemed calm compared to prior years.

:sad2::sad2:I was hoping that the virus, heat and mask-wearing, lack of fireworks would deter some people away from the park.
Thanks all!

One of the big unknown factors will be whether Disney decides (or is able) to up the capacity for the parks as we roll into summer. If they stay capped in the 35%-40% range, then it may be the limits on park passes that keep people away.

Whatever they do, I hope WDW has a good plan to manage crowds.

The Flower and Garden festival will be until July 5th.

I made our park reservations for Epcot for this very reason. While I don't think it's likely, if any park will have fireworks that night I think it will be Epcot because it's the easiest to distance.

Also visiting for a week over the 4th. This is the only major holiday I have not been at WDW (multiple times) other than Easter. Looking forward to celebrating the red, white and blue the Disney way. Hope there will be some special patriotic decorations etc. So glad the Flower ad Garden Show goes to the 5th. Can't wait as this is my favorite show other than we love Party for the Senses.

We are planning a trip in late July. I have been trying to get feedback on expected crows. If you look at sites like Undercover and Touring plans, they are expecting large crowds. Looking at current Covid vaccination trends, I wouldn't be surprised to see Disney open at 100% capacity by then. If you include the "cabin fever" variable, we may see record crowds. With a good touring plan, rope drop, and efficient use of FP and multiple Magic Bands. You can still have a really nice time.

I have reservations for July 2-6. With large crowds expected, I anticipate all parks will be at capacity. What is your preferred park for capacity crowds? I am trying to decide which park is best to visit on July 4th. I know MK will be the busiest but anticipate they can handle the large numbers best? Thoughts?

We've done Magic Kingdom before for Jul4 so we opted for Epcot this time around. The world showcase can eat alot of people and we are staying at Caribbean Beach so it's just the easiest for us.

I have never been there for the 4th of July, But I have been there at Christmas. Barely room to walk at Christmas in the MK. I would probably do AK in the morning and hope to get in MK or Epcot for evening fireworks.

We made out park reservations at Epcot for now because I just don't have much hope of being able to hop to either one of them and think they will end up hitting capacity.

Our plan is to hit Volcano Bay at rope drop with early admission access from our APs (I think they will hit capacity by the time they open to the general public), stick around till the early afternoon then head back to Caribbean Beach, shower and make our way to Epcot to eat dinner at the Flower and Garden Festival booths.

Good plan. I think all parks will probably be at capacity and don't have much hope for hopping!

That sounds like a terrific plan. I think this summer WDW will be insane. Everyone will be itching to go on vacation.
