2019 Standard room at POR?

We are going to WDW a couple of nights before our Disney cruise next october. At the moment we have All star music booked and I'm looking to switch to POR to surprise my bf. When I look at the options it only gives me pool view or any of the royal rooms to choose from. The options of river, garden, standard all say that "This room type is unavailable for the dates, party size or offer selected". Are they holding these rooms for longer trips? We are only looking for 2 nights. I've looked at POFQ as well and says the same thing. I'm worried about the construction at CBR and CS so those are probably not an option.

They might be fully booked for the time which you are looking at. I have noticed that as we have gotten closed to our trip this summer---some of the standard room rates at various resorts have become available again. People sometimes cancel as the date gets closer. That said we love staying at POR and while I am not sure of your travel dates, the garden view is usually only a few bucks more than the standard room rate. I think with our trip this summer, standard was $217 and the garden view was $222 if that helps make your decision to switch now and then keep your eye out for standard is you really wanted to save the additional about $10. POR does have some upcoming room refurbs starting this summer---shouldn't effect most people. POFQ just finished with all of their room renos (new flooring and such).
