Newbie Question - First time attending food and wine. As a Passholder and DVC Member can I book online for seminars and the culinary demos? I see online there is a "Check Availability" naturally it's not able to check now, but was wondering if I could book there on the site Tuesday Morning?
According to the WDW Food and Wine Festival web page, DVC members can book online starting June 14. There is no mention of being able to book online for early booking tomorrow.

Question for a first timer...

How quickly do demos/non-dining events book up? Specifically, the MIMICI Workshops, culinary demos, beverage seminars and the food & bev pairing events? We are on the fence about attending anything like this, and I'm honestly not sure I'll know by the end of the week if we want to go. Since this is our first time at Food & Wine - and his first time at Disney EVER, I don't know if our schedule should be so set - especially in addition to our ADRs.

Thoughts?

Very few of the culinary and beverage seminars will come close to selling out. For the others if there's a celebrity host they will sell out. If it's Pam and her spices or a Disney hotel chef it will stay open much longer LOL!

The culinary and beverage seminars I found depending on the type can be booked closer to the event. certain types may book up faster depending on whats offered, but I've been able to book these much closer to the event.

The other events depending on popularity fills up much quicker. (Cheese seminars, Parisian breakfast ect)

I wouldn't over plan or over schedule. I think if something really catches your eye do it. but I really pulled back on the adrs and planning this vacation because I found that it can be stressful and almost constricting. Leave open room because you never know if eating something can cause someone in your party to be sick (it happened to me LOL) and from what I understand these events are non refundable.

Thanks!! This helps me de-stress a lot!

That is something I'm trying to keep in mind. Gotta find the balance between 'want to do it all!' and 'want to be able to walk after a week!' - We'll get there. :donald:

Same! Some of our most favorite moments in Disney is when we take it slow and just take it in. Like one day we decided to spend over an hour in the Nomad Lounge and just relaxed and it was amazing.

I’m beginning to wonder if they are doing a 2 phase special event release - everything that can be done online this week and the smaller events next month

I agree. Something is going on here. When they announced the long dates of this year's F&W, I wondered how they could possible open all bookings at the same time. OMG, it was awful before, I can only imagine how long the holds would be with all the extra weeks available to book.

Anyone done a Bacardi beverage seminar? Thinking about booking it but I'm not entirely certain what I'm booking here. I'm thinking it'll be a chance to try 3 different rums (VERY itsy bitsy tastings I'm sure!), get a primer on how rum is made, maybe hear some things that Bacardi likes to highlight about their rum making process and companies...? But I'd LOVE to hear from anyone whose been to a Bacardi seminar!

I was thinking the same thing a couple of days ago. Plus, this week's registrations are much earlier in the summer than they have been in recent years. However, last year they waited until the very last minute to release information on the more special dining events.

This would be so annoying... but that certainly wouldn’t stop it from being the case.

Why not? Aren’t there fewer total events to book now than in the past, even if they’re more spread out?

Not sure why that would affect when they open booking. But who know what would... ...

Just obnoxious how opaque Disney is about stuff like this. So disrespectful to customers and their time.

I s/w a very nice CM who verified AP ressies can be made 6/12 at 9:00am and gave me $$ for f&w pairings in Italy and France. She said info should be on website tonight.
Thanks for posting. Not sure how much stock to place in this, but certainly willing to check back in tonight! :)

Totally. There is no ooh la la on what they’ve released so far. Even if I wanted to do a seminar, there’s no way I’m booking something non refundable before seeing what else is going to be offered.

Same here — exactly. That’s part of why separate booking dates doesn’t make sense to me. But Disney has certainly on occasion done things that don’t make sense to me... ... ;)

I still don't know what I want to book due to the lack of info. I'm still debating whether I want to pay $100 more for my wife and I to attend PFTS for the same exact seat.
