What time do you put your turkey in the oven?

When I used to cook for Thanksgiving, I always tried to have it in the oven by 9 a.m.. :)

I usually put mine in the oven between 9 am and 10. I chop up the celery and onions for the stuffing the night before. The only problem I have had is making sure the turkey is fully defrosted. I always end up putting it in the sink in cold water that morning. Maybe I will get it right this year.

We plan to eat around 2:00. My turkey is 22 pounds so I need to cook it about 6 hours. I'll put it on around 7 am so I can have it out of the oven in time to bake the dressing.

I was thinking about getting one of those roasters that look similar to crock pots. They are on sale right now. I've never used one, so I don't know how well they work. It would free up oven space though. Has anyone used one? How long does it take to cook the turkey this way?

I cook mine like no one else does. Frozen into the Nesco roaster the NIGHT before... at 200 degrees. Turn it up the next morning at about 7-8 am. to 350 degrees. It's ready to eat by noon :)

I might try this! I'm out shopping early on T-day so by the time I get home its 11am and way too late to put in the bird..

On and to the person who asked about the roasters they are awesome! A great "extra" oven! :thumbsup2 I use mine all the time for parties.

I'm not sure what time we'll be eating yet. I will have the turkey in the oven 3 to 3 1/2 hours before we intend to eat (we have a 16 1/2 pound turkey). Gotta love Reynolds' Oven Browning Bags!! ;)

The Turkey Food Police are going to come looking for you! ;)

I have a 26 pound bird and we want to eat around noon. I guess I will have to put it in around 5 or 5:30am. We don't usually eat that early, but some of us have to work at midnight.
