2017 05/02 Hollywood Studios in the rain

Day 4 Tuesday Hollywood Studios

Arrived at HS by car at 10 or so.

Got some memory maker pics on the way in.


Walked around just a bit, shopping and just getting acclimated to the park, started to rain a little. So
Shari got on a poncho, I was damp already so just roughed it. The kids were under the stroller cover.
started raining harder and I regretted not putting on a poncho but too late..lol..anyway headed to our 9:25-10:25 Toy Story Mania FP. Got there about 10:30. Fun ride, but I hate scoring rides. My son would just hold the button instead of punch it on & off so by the time I figured it out, we were half way through the ride. So his score was not very good. And his sister let him know it.

Headed over to One Man’s dream where I thought Moana had a meet & greet. Lizzy even had her Moana dress on...NO Moana (bummer!!)very disappointed, a lot of people were under the same impression that she was there. Found out from a CM that last week they changed to the Pirates movie preview.. oh well...

So we wandered around. As we walked up the boulevard noticed the Stormtroopers were coming down the street, so we sat.
As they started walking by, the skies opened up and it really started pouring.
Shari and the kids went into a Disney store, I waited with stroller outside under an awning. She bought new socks. I was already soaked even with the poncho…next time longer ponchos, barely went past my waist if I didn’t hold it down. After 45 minute rain, slowed down enough, we started walking to the(10:30-11:30) FP…Star Tours. We were already 15/20 minuted late, as we jumped into a huge FP line, started raining again. Finally they just quit checking magic bands and started letting everyone go in. I was sure I was gonna have to beg on the fp because we were so late, but worked out.

Everyone really enjoyed Star Tours, I was a bit surprised but expectations started pretty low (no real Star Wars fans in our house). But it was great and we all loved it.

So it was time to get over to our Play & Dine Lunch (we had the Fantasmic Pkg)...

But being we were just running from building to building all morning we still didnt know where Hollywood & Vine even was...and we were late...So just started asking CM...We got there and even though 1/2 hour late we only had to wait about 5 minuted before we got in....

Day 4 Tuesday Hollywood Studios part 2

Had heard a lot of disparaging remarks about this place, but we loved it. I mean it wasn't 4star food but come on, people need to lighten up and take some of these places for what they are ..fun buffet. OK so Ill jump off my soap box..lol..probably the most Logan friendly. Corn dogs, fries, very basic kids food. Met Doc McStuffins, Princess Sofia, Jake and Handy Manny(I am bit surprised Handy Manny is still around) kind of an older cartoon and I guess I didn’t think very popular anymore, but this was a fun lunch. The kids laughed hard with characters. It was a little cold in the AC and were kind of wet. Very loud with a diner feel. I loved the corn dogs.






So We did the Fantasmic Pkg I was so happy we did...

After lunch went to For the First Time in Forever Sing along FP (NOTE: would not use a Fast Pass for this attraction, more of a show and wait times were basically the same .) On the way out for an afternoon break we did get to sit and watch the strormtroopers. Later we saw a pair of Stormtroopers walking around interacting with the crowd, very funny they were talking to a 10yr kid or so and told him “Don’t Move!” he stopped and they just walked away and left him there…it was kind of funny.

Left the park, went to Walmart, then back to hotel for a break and a swim.

These afternoon breaks were the smartest thing we did on the trip...So we didnt go through burn out...

Day 4 Tuesday Hollywood Studios part 3

The First Time in Forever sing-a long was alot of fun...the characters were great, the narraters were very funny..

Day 4 Tuesday Hollywood Studios part 4

This was the first time we saw the famous entrance sign.. coming back from Walmart.


Drove back to the studios at 6:40. Did a 6:30-7:30 FP Toy Story Mania, I had gotten that afternoon after other 3 were done.

Never did get time to go see Woody & Buzz, but he gave us a thumbs up through the window...

Then tried to find SciFI Diner.
7:30 reservation. We never did get our bearings in this park because of the rainy morning and we were getting lost all day even though this was supposedly the small park...So finally found Sci Fi Diner....Thumbs up from kids and Dad. This was a favorite. Really enjoyed the drive in feel of this restaurant. I had an Oreo Shake, awesome. Waitress was awesome and she showed us a short cut to get to Fantasmic because we were a bit behind.


We had gotten the Fantasmic Pkg with Lunch so we wouldn't waste a fast pass and glad we did we got awesome seats...Fantasmic was my Favorite Night time Show!!!

We saw Wishes and Rivers of Light but Fantasmic was the best...

Day 4 Tuesday Hollywood Studios part 5

Fantasmic was the best...


got back to AoA at 10:30…This night Lizzy lost her magic band, she got us into the room so we knew it was in the room. After 45 minutes and many lectures about putting things in their proper place, Mom said look in her coat. There it was in her sleeve. Lesson learned...

Deep Thoughts....
This day was proof that even in the rain. Disney World is the best. It poured at times through out the day and we still had an awesome time. We didn't even do ToT or R&R roller coaster and still had plenty to do.
