2016 Trip

Hi all! We have a WDW vacation that's only 142 days away, however DH and I are already thinking of our 2016 trip! Can I get some DIS'ers experience with the last week of August/first week September past trips? For us, school won't have started yet, which is a big plus since DD will be in 1st grade at that point. We will also be celebrating her 6th birthday then at that time.

Fall is my FAVORITE time in WDW and I'm not sure if they put out decor at the beginning of September or if it's later. Can anyone confirm that?

DH wants to book at Poly. We are currently booked (for our Dec. 2015 trip) at AoA in a Little Mermaid room since DD is obsessed with all things Ariel! I got to choose the resort for the last 2 trips, DD has chosen this one and DH's turn is up next for 2016!!

We've been to WDW in late August/early September. The summer heat is still in full force, but summer crowds have dwindled a bit due to schools in many areas starting up in mid-August. After Labor day weekend, the crowd level drops significantly. Back before the free dining promotion came along, September was a very low crowd period. DW and I recall walking the grounds at GF and WL one evening and they both seemed like ghost towns.

BTW, our upcoming trip will overlap with yours. We arrive 1 December for a 12-night stay.

Sorry I don't have all the answers to your questions but I can tell you that the first night for MNSSHP this year is September 18th. I don't think they would have the decor out 2-3 weeks early. Seems unlikely but I've been wrong before.

Been there that week 2 or 3 times and always loved it. Yes it's hot, but we were there May 2015 and that was hot too.

Low crowds, good times.
