2016 Trip Check in

We bought APs through the CTA (teacher's union in CA) and they also sell tickets. They are a little cheaper and we've gone through them before. Check your work- you may have union or employee discounts to places you didn't realize.

Hi! I'm dying to go this year but will/should wait until 2016 really. If I do manage to wait, and that's the plan (although I keep doing the Disney math trying to find a way..) I like to visit in the fall, early Christmas season, perhaps just after Thanksgiving, if I can wait that long!

I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts as to if there's a chance the anniversary festivities will be extended through 2016?
At first I thought I didn't mind missing all the special entertainment and what not, because a regular day at Disneyland is amazing already right? But I confess all the talk is starting to get to me. Really I just want to go now! LOL
I plan on visiting the parks for about 8 days total, although not all at once, since I live overseas now.
Look forward to planning with everyone!

We're planning on a trip late Oct., probably around the 17th or so, for MHP and catch a Ducks and/or Kings game (hopefully both). The wife's already planning our costumes (she'll be making them, plus new Medieval Times outfits; we love that place). Form there it looks like a Disney Carribean cruise in 2017 for our 10th wedding anniversary.
YEAH FOR HOCKEY: we tried to catch an Ducks game in 2013; but it was pre-season and they were on the road everyday we were there: and getting Kings tickets was impossible!! Too funny, my DH and myself are wanting to plan a Disney Cruise for our 20th as well; great minds!!! Oh have fun! I love DL at Halloween!!:flower:

All updated :)

Where is everyone buying park tickets? I know a lot of times orbitz has a 4th day free promo but i don't see one now. Also when will you buy your tickets? Since we are reserving our hotel with DVC points we will be buying our tickets separately and of course i want to get the best deal!

Unless something changes (i.e. if our car sells) I think we're going with Getawaytoday for our tickets and hotel, probably after the first of the year. We looked at the site and was really impressed by what they have to offer

Thanks Jane! We tried to catch a Ducks game back in 2012, but because of the lockout...We're looking at going to StubHub for the Kings tickets. They always seem to have tickets available for games. Are you doing the Caribbean cruise? We're doing that one and can't wait.

Everything I read thus far has no "end date" to any of the Anniversary Festivities: I know, I saw all the spring/Easter/flowers blooming and now my next trip in my mind is during spring!!

Since we live in WA: going on the Alaska cruise will be the easiest. We can drive to Vancouver: stay a few days then take the Cruise. I have always wanted to see Alaska. Its 5yrs till our 20; so plenty of time to save for the great room!! I hope you have a great time at the hockey game; with Stanley Cup Playoffs, its all hockey in this house right now!! I know you will have a blast in DL!!!

We are planning to go next June! We know when our vacation will be, but not completely sure yet what all we'll do and on which days. We are thinking 4 days at DL, and then trying to decide what else in CA we may add. At this point, the only other thing I'm sold on is the San Diego Zoo. We are WDW addicts, and just got back from a trip there in March, but won't be able to return until 2017. Looking forward to getting to head out west next year, though if I'm being completely honest I am a bit concerned that it's just going to make me miss WDW rather than feel like its own vacation. However, I know DL is the original and has lots to offer that we can't get at WDW, and I really want my kids to see it while they're still little, so I'm determined to give it a chance. Looking forward to planning (and, in my case, learning!) with you all!

I just found out work is sending me to San Diego in late January 2016, so I'm thinking of trying to tack on a trip to DL. I've only been to DL as a suuuuper small child, so it'll basically be my first time! Haven't broken the news to the BF yet lol.

We are currently planning for Christmas 2016. Does anyone know when Disney property is open to book for that time?

Hoping to surprise my Mum with her first ever trip to the land in April 2016 for her birthday! her actual birthday is May 12th, but i'm thinking the later half of April will be a nicer time to visit. Slightly lower crowds, slightly lower temperatures (when myself and my cousin went in May last year we caught that heat wave, yuck!) and we will miss the marathon and grad nights. Sounds like a win to me :)

We are going to Alaska this June! Not on Disney, but Celebrity Solstice and we leave and end in Seattle. From there going to Spokane. Are you going on the Disney ship?

I don't think you'll miss WDW. There is so much to do at DLR and if your children are small, you will love the easy walk between parks and not having to spend hours on the bus. I think DLR is easier for young children. And easier to go back to the room and take an afternoon nap.

For the rest of your trip, you might want to listen to the Disneyland Edition of DisUnpugged. They just helped someone plan a Calif. vacation and DLR and other places. That might give you some ideas. Also, on the podcast they have what they call "Day 6" segments. This is because they only sell 5 day parkhoppers and people are looking for other places to visit on Day 6. You can go back and check the topics.

I'm planning to upgrade to APs in December this year for myself and my 2 kiddos, so I am already thinking of trips for 2016! I am definitely that kind of planner. Husband & I will do April 29-May 2 for Dapper Day probably stay at DLH. I'm going to take the kids in February and October dates TBD (when we have school breaks-I wish they had the new school year calendar up already, haha).

I'm a preschool teacher at a preschool through 12th grade private school. We just got our school calenders on Friday and we in the preschool had a meeting to start planning our special days. All the while, I"m thinking, "Where can I fit in a trip to Disneyland?" :rotfl: DH is also a teacher at a public school so we have to coordinate our calenders. Even though our kids are in college now, we still live by the school year. At least we have summers off!

I really have to coordinate with school calendars now, I recently started working as an instructional aide at my youngest's school with the Transitional Kindergarten kids. So now three of us live by that calendar and my husband just has to take time off :D And I basically take my part time pay checks and sign them over to Disney since all I've done with them is pay off a vacation for later this year!

Yeah, I say I'm working to put my boys through college, but really I'm working to take Disney trips! :)

We are planning Disney Cruise: should be amazing. Can you believe it was my husbands idea?!?!

Heading to DL mid-March 2016. Our family did our first Disney family vacation to WDW in Nov 2014 and now my niece (8) has decided we need to have a bucket list to travel to every Disney park in the world. We'll see about that, but for now we will try out DL on the next trip! Will be 6 of us total!

I live in Southeast Alaska (Wrangell) and you will LOVE the cruise! Southeast Alaska where the cruise ships travel is the most beautiful place on earth! I swear that the air is clearer here and it makes you think clearer, too! So much to see and do. I mean, where else can you see bald eagles just flying around? Sorry, I get a little excited about this place I call home. Anyway - it'll be great! :)
