yup..unless your room or hotel is not included in the promo

I know these are the dates everyone is reporting, but they really make no sense to me. FD over Thanksgiving and Christmas? But blacked out October and first half of November? I know Oct/Nov has gotten a lot more crowded in recent years, but not busier than Thanksgiving and Christmas!

I'm on the fence about those November dates. On one hand I enjoyed having fd last year and would take it again this year. On the other hand, I enjoyed the trip we did OOP and that would work well for us too! If there's no FD for our week in Nov, hopefully that will make the parks and restaurants less busy. We're planning Nov 4-12.

Thanks!!!![/QUOTE]

I agree. Something just doesn't make sense to me. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I don't think so...

Scratching my head over that too!

My dates are the same as yours and I feel the same way. But if no FD, I do hope we get a room discount at least!

It makes absolutely NO sense to me either :sad2:

I have 2 questions. We are currently booked to stay offsite in Sept, but am thinking about switching to on site, since we might be able to get FD. IF,it would all still come within budget. Anyways...

1. We already have 5 day MYW tickets purchased through Undercover Tourist. If the FD comes with the Hopper, etc requirement, would we be able to add that to our already purchased tickets, or does everything have to be purchased as a package through Disney to get the FD offer.

2. This question is actually more of a concern. If the rumored dates are correct and there are no October FD dates, do you think that will make more people switch to September, thus making September much more busy? We chose Sept for MNSSHP and lowest crowds.

For myself, I will NOT be changing my dates to September just for FD. There are many other considerations that went into the timing of our trip in October, so FD would basically just be a BONUS if it lands during our dates. Since the rumored dates seem like it won't be an option for us, I'm hoping for a PIN code similar to one I've received before that included FD blackout dates. I've gotten 3 PINS so far this year that unfortunately I cannot use, so I'm crossing my fingers to be on the next mailing list too (I'll take a room discount too, I'm not picky).

But, regardless, I won't be switching to any other dates just for FD.

Just wondering we have tickets we purchased through Disney but then ended up having to cancel a trip. Is there any way if you call they can take those tickets and upgrade them to make it a package and count for free dinning? I know we can either just keep them and use them next year or just buy the minimum and then use those plus the 4 day but trying to just keep the ticket amount of the trip to 4 or 5 days and then go over to universal on the other 2 days we have in town.

Question for AP holders. How do you handle the ticket required for the promotion? My AP expires on 10/1 and we're planning to check out on that day. I didn't plan to renew right away, so the extra cost for me to have the extra ticket almost outweighs the free dining. I'd love to hear others thoughts on this.

This is what happens to us each year but in Sept. Free dining really works out well for us because the ticket portion is a wash, we would be spending that anyways, to renew. So really if we pay full price for the room, our meals are free, that's a great deal by disney standards. We use the ticket and upgrade it to an AP, We usually get a 4 day ticket no matter what the minimum is because that's the closest to the DVC AP renewal price. So I think we paid less than $100 to renew all 4 APs. It's best to deactivate the FD ticket, so it doesn't start using that instead of your AP. Hope that all made sense.

Tickets purchased from UCT are refundable as long as they are still sealed and not attached to your MDE account. We're currently booked offsite too, and have several tickets from UCT. I never open them until it's time to do FP+. I'm trying to price out whether booking onsite is a good idea for us as well.

The only thing I can think of is the fact that the rooms are way more expensive during those times so it makes the FD less of a deal. Same reason why they took away Sept. as value season for the values and mods.. FD...bigger profit.

I thought I saw something earlier saying that dvc did not get advanced availability of FD last year? Is that right and if so, why would it change back this year?

DV(C) meaning Disney Visa cardholders, not DVC for Disney vacation club :)

Actually I jut re-read your message and I didn't answer your question! Sorry!!!
