It's also worth noting that UK Travel Agencies are also reporting the the QS and Regular Plans are going to see the addition of an extra snack, whilst losing the dessert element from the Quick Serivce Meals. Up to this point the Dining Plans have been the same across the board so Im interested to see if this change will be across the board too once the 2017 Dining Plans are officially released. For my family, an extra snack as opposed to the dessert with a QS meal works a lot better! Both sites below have details on the changes

Oh the one mod is DEFINITELY cheaper. The suites at AOA are easily $100 more per night than the mod, and you're only getting Quick Service dining plan with them. If you go to a mod you'll save over $100 a night and get the regular dining plan. It will be a little more crowded and you'll only have one bathroom, so you'll need to see what's more important for your family.Family suite 3 adults 1 kid vs One room Mod 3 adults 1 kid I dislike that my 12yo is a Disney Adult
But with the new substitutions they have been allowing, you could have subbed out your dessert for a specialty drink or a soup or side, as long as it had the snack logo next to it. So, if you have the QS plan, they are taking two things away from you and giving you one.I would be happy for an extra snack credit--to use for water or fruit, I usually don't have room or want to eat a dessert with a meal, could also help not to gain to much weight
This is so much fun! Im glad to know that I'm not the only one that LOVES to plan Disney Vacations. My hubby told me yesterday that I'm a little "obsessed". I just laughed. A little my butt, a LOT!![]()
So the changes, as listed for the UK plans, wouldn't go into effect for everyone until 2017, right? I mean, if they happen at all?
I have 2 questions. We are currently booked to stay offsite in Sept, but am thinking about switching to on site, since we might be able to get FD. IF,it would all still come within budget. Anyways...
1. We already have 5 day MYW tickets purchased through Undercover Tourist. If the FD comes with the Hopper, etc requirement, would we be able to add that to our already purchased tickets, or does everything have to be purchased as a package through Disney to get the FD offer.
2. This question is actually more of a concern. If the rumored dates are correct and there are no October FD dates, do you think that will make more people switch to September, thus making September much more busy? We chose Sept for MNSSHP and lowest crowds.
Yes, the QS is definitely losing more. It should be 2 extra snack credits, but I guess Disney's saving themselves money by cutting 2 and giving 1. And you bring up an excellent point that I had not considered! And that is the substituting part we did with our desserts. We would get say an extra side instead of a dessert etc. I had not though about losing that capability. Ok, I'm against it now haha!I would like an extra snack credit too because the snacks are usually far superior to the CS desserts. However, if they are going to cut out the CS desserts, they should give those on the QS plan 2 more snack credits bc the QS plan has two meals a day. They finally got flexible and allowed substitutions between drinks, desserts, and items with the snack credit item, so I'm not sure I like the possible change.

I'm assuming that is correct, as the dining plan description and details of what is included for 2016 is already in place. I would think, if this happened then it would not be able to go into effect until the new year's plan.So the changes, as listed for the UK plans, wouldn't go into effect for everyone until 2017, right? I still like the idea of an extra snack instead of dessert at the QS, but I agree that if the plan is losing 2 desserts it should gain 2 more snack credits.I'm assuming that is correct, as the dining plan description and details of what is included for 2016 is already in place. Love this post, I could not find a clapping simile so I'll do this

It is nice to see black mentioned again, I miss his posts about FD on the DIS. This isn't directed at anyone or anything that's been posted in this thread (just my general thoughts), but I feel the DIS has lost a lot of good tips and insider info over the past few years because of people picking apart rumors and taking rumors as fact and then getting upset about it being somewhat different. So I agree that any insider information should be appreciated, and basically trust what you can up to a certain point with the knowledge that Disney can change anything last minute. So don't bet the farm on a rumor, but you can start planning the farm
I have faith in black562 and thedirtysteve as they have both helped me with FD insider info in the past. In fact, when I saw black "like" thedirtysteve's FD rumor last year, that was a good enough stamp of approval for me. And he did not steer me wrong and I got up that next morning as rumored and booked my FD. So thank you thedirtysteve for taking the time to pass along your info with us. It's nice that you share the love of FD.
I personally don't have a dog in this fight this year, as I already have a FD BB booked, but I am watching to see what happens and enjoying the excitement from everyone. I hope everyone gets what they want and wish everyone the best of luck! I'll be watching and celebrating along with all of you. I have seen some ask about alternative phone numbers, and I have these from last year and a few tips to get to a real person sooner.
Phone Numbers to book: 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639) - 407-939-7639 * / (407) 939-7709 /
407-939-7675 / 407 939 4357 * Say “New Reservation” “Agent” to get through quicker on the phone
If the date offered is in the middle of your trip and you can't change dates, the I agree that it wouldn't be worth it.Probably not worth it then. Thanks
You'd still get it for your trip. I read many people adding an extra day onto their package in the beginning of the trip without physically being there because that was the last day they were offering the promo under that set of dates.Question, let's say FD was offered through 11/28, and that was also your planned check-in date. If things go fine, you get there on the 28th and boom, FD for the whole stay. But, what if your flight got delayed and you ended up actually checking in on the 29th as a result?
In this case you still are paying for the 28th (because it's within the 5 day window and you can't help that), but you aren't physically checking in until the 29th. Would you still get FD?
great post! I think I remember you from 2013. Thought I would be in on the FD excitement/chaos that year but my sister got an FD PIN that we used for POFQ; did not even have to change my dates, thanks to advice from Smitch.
I love WDW and follow FD every year, black562 and the dirtysteve have been spot on as you said. Ready for FD this year, hoping our dates (11/12-11/19) will be covered, have my Disney Visa ready if we get the advance booking, if not will be on my computer EARLY.
thanks for those additional telephone #s.
Do you happen to know what number we call if DV holders do get early booking?
