2016 Free Dining Watch ~ Part 2

I am booked under that deal, and I can tell you that free dining is nowhere near as good of a deal as that. I am staying at poly for 10 days and my price is cheaper than free dining at CBR would be. you can't add free dining or dining at all to that deal. I don't see you beating that price.
The price is great for a Deluxe no doubt, and it can't be beat. But you still have to factor in the cost of food. That's where FD at a mod becomes the better deal.

On an existing reservation on MDE when you to go change my reservation will FD be under the dining plan or under the vacation offer?

This is actually my very first Disboards post! I have been reading this thread, well part 1, for 2 weeks now. The dates that I am going, due to work schedule, FD is definitely not in the cards for me. I am going October 7 - 17, and staying at CBR. This is also my first solo trip! Looking forward to doing what I want to do, when I want to do it. :yay: I am wishing everyone luck for Monday! I have a feeling that I have to wait for the RO to drop in July for my trip, that is based off of past history. Though, if RO is anything like what AirCanada is offering for RO, I might be able to get it sooner rather than later!

:smickey:

Based on the rumors room only discounts for you time (through 11/5) will drop on Monday too.

Every other hour my change reservation option disappears. I really hope this is not the case Monday morning.we have had this trip booked since last year. We are going with my in laws and sister in laws family so we booked ahead to give everyone time to pay and to get vacation time off set . It would be nice for everyone to have free dining for the trip.

Last night I was adding the park hopper to my reservation and it would say I had to call to modify. When I hit refresh the change reservation option was there. This happened twice. So just keep hitting refresh.

I doubt any TG crowds will arrive that early...

They usually start showing up that Saturday/Sunday. By that Sunday night you can tell a huge difference in the crowds. Magic Kingdom is always dead that morning and then by midafternoon is packed.

I'm in the same boat here. Always loved that week before Thanksgiving, but 11/15 is much too close to the crowds. Looking at the week after as well. What additional Christmas attractions have I been missing out on?
I'm not as worried about airfare, in my preliminary comparisons, it seemed comparable.

The storytellers at Epcot and then Candlelight Processional. Love Epcot already so even more reason to spend my mornings in MK and then nights in Epcot.

No you cannot add free dining to this special deal. If you want FD, you will have to pay rack rate for your room which can be pretty pricey at a Deluxe. Your best bet would be to stay at a moderate and book it yourself on the Disney website.
Regarding this, if we book a new stay at a moderate with FD, won't the system recognize that we are booked at two different place on the same dates? I suspect cancelling reservation won't be any TA first priority on release day.

Random question....not sure if anyone knows the answer: I have an ADR for 4 people at ohana at 5:20pm. After I booked everything for 4 My parents said they may end up coming with us! We weren't able to find anything on that day (it's DH birthday) for a party of 6 so my parents booked a 5:05pm for 2. Do you think they'd let us all sit together since the reservations are so close?

I've never done it, but it seems many think that's the route to go. So it must be doable.

You should be okay for a few days.

No way to know, but more likely if you check in early and ask to be seated at the later time.

If they have a table large enough to seat 6 available, they will. O'hana is generally a very busy restaurant that stays booked, as evidenced by your inability to find a reservation for 6. So, while there is an outside chance, I wouldn't count on it.
