2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: September 14 - November 14, 2016

Friday nights and anytime on Saturday are not the best times to try and get into La Cava during the Food & Wine Festival. Should also be noted that La Cava and some of the other bars in Epcot have procedures when they are anticipating F&W weekend crowds - La Cava will serve everything in plastic, even if you are sitting inside, and Rose & Crown removes the tables and chairs (except the standing tables) and serves all drinks in plastic cups - Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Mon-Thurs is the time to go if you want the full experience of these places like you'd get on most days that aren't Festival weekends.

Good to know - thanks! We will be at Epcot over a long weekend that includes a Thursday and a Monday. I have never experienced Rose & Crown and wanted to squeeze it in this time. We will make it a point to do that on one of those days.

Going to my FIRST F&W experience in October!!! Was reading about the tasting sampler tickets for $59. Does anyone have a list of what samples are "excluded"? was wondering if this would be a good deal to purchase specifically for alcohol? thanks :)

Would someone be able to tell me where the Mexican Tequila Lunch is held? My reservation for Thursday just says "world showcase"

There are a few possibilities in the Mexican pavilion and would rather not be wandering about.

Thanks!

It's at La Hacienda, behind the counter-service place.

I'm excited to use up some QS credits while there and very happy to hear that the exchange for snack credits has been working. I am wondering though...could you get two food items and a water as a QS exchange? (I'm all for trying the different drinks around the world -- and paying OOP for them -- but DH doesn't really drink and would prefer to grab a water instead.
If you're going to drink..Then use the 3rd portion of that credit towards the drink & just pay OOP for the water....Better bang for your buck....Water is probably $3.25 or so and the drink might be $6...just sayin :confused3

We did the 16 voucher one and did not run into any exclusions on food at any of the country booths. For alcohol we had the Pineapple Margarita in Mexico, the frozen Caipirinha in Brazil, the Happy Peach and Kung Fu Punch in China (which by the way they free poured the alcohol into lol) and the Dole Whip with Rum at the Refreshment Port by Canada. The Dole Whips were the only non country booth that we tried to redeem anything with the vouchers and had no issue with it. I'm not sure if it will be the same with anything else though, as I have heard in the past that the non country booth sometimes do not accept the tasting vouchers.

How do I know what events are already sold out?? Is there a link that would allow me to quickly check without have to call Disney and getting asked 20 questions.. before they answer my question.

My wife and I are attending Thursday's Tequila Lunch too!

They don't close the permanent kiosks (the enclosed ones) for lightning in the area. Just the carts, and the temporary ones. Don't know what the deal is with France though. Maybe it is more enclosed than the others.

I suspect it may have to do with the location and proximity of lightning rods - the more permanent stands probably had lightning rods designed for them or at least incorporated nearby. France has a very tall very recognizable lightning rod nearby. Eiffel something? :rotfl:

I'm pretty sure there is a picture of the voucher somewhere in this thread that shows the exclusions. IIRC it lists beer flights, and a few specific wines.
Dh and I got the 16 voucher one and used them all on alcoholic drinks priced $8 and up. I think the most expensive ones were $10.50 or $10.75. Its definitely worth it if you know you will drink over your stay.

Does this mean if we have an ADR on Saturday night that we won't be able to try and request a patio table for illuminations? Will the viewing area they normally have still be available for guests that are seated indoors?

This is yesterday's Dis Unplugged Podcast. There's a review of the festival towards the end of the show:

Were you able to combine voucher purchases with non-voucher purchases at the same booth, or were you required to do 2 transactions?

Are the vouchers shareable? I'd like to split one with my sister and her boyfriend. Can we separate the coupons, or would we all have to go together with whomever purchased the vouchers?
