OK next year we are flying to Orlando. I plan to rent a car as well. I would prefer to rent on property but I don't need the car for the whole trip. Honestly I really only need it for a few days, but if it's more economical to rent for a week I will do that.

So How do I find good comparisons and coupons and codes and how far in advance should I place my rental. We arrive on June 11 and I would like to pick up the car on the 12th. This certainly is unchartered territory for me.

Yesterday I reserved a full size car with Alamo with the Costco Membership code and got a rate of $200.78. June 11-20. I'm happy with that rate but will keep watching for a lower rate.

I am going to have to try Costco again! That is a good rate for 9 days! I am booking for 12, and got a quote for $361 in Jan/Feb. Did you book from Costco's site, or from Alamo's own site, plugging in the Costco code?

Booked a mini van for my 1 week March Spring Break back in July and got 289.00. Will be still checking up until about 2 weeks out. It is up to 325. now and that is with Alamo - I sometimes do better with the city specials at Dollar

Is that with taxes calculated in or just the base rate? I just booked a standard Dollar rental for $267 for Jan 22 to Feb 2 (week + 4 days).

We have been checking for the 3rd week in April and it is about $200-$300 more then we paid this past April and that had 1 more day on it.

We have a 10 day rental with Alamo for April 24th to May 3. $201 including all taxes and fees with Alamo for a standard/full size. We booked through carrentalsavers.com and were pleasantly surprised at how low it is this far out!

I booked with Alamo's site using the Costco code. I wanted to make sure that my Alamo Insider number was attached to the reservation.

Does anybody know what the cancellation policy is if you hold something with carrentalsavers.com? I see that their rate is slightly less than what I currently have direct with Alamo but it's still early so I don't want to lock into anything.
