Just to make sure I am 100% clear, if I book a package for next year when rates come out and there is a discount announced in January (for example), I can call Disney and they will let me keep my package and just adjust the price?

Also, I did a chat this morning because I had some wedding questions and the woman I was chatting with mentioned (without me asking directly) that 2015 package rates would be released late summer/EARLY FALL. I just... can't any more....

I asked her to clarify and she said August/September. What? I think they are just messing with us at this point

I feel like that's just way top late. In sure they realize people like to and some NEED to plan their vacas this far in advance. I think some people may choose a different location to stay if they wait much longer and they probably know that. Taking it all with a grain of salt! I'm waiting to book until the discount comes out in Oct for Jan but is still like to know my absolute full price.

I like as much time as possible to make payments (yes I know I could throw it in a savings account or something but it works better for me to just pay them). I feel bad for people going early in the year and having to wait to book. Makes me never want to go early in the year.

I agree! Luckily we aren't going until May but for the people going earlier in the year that is only a few months of planning and budgeting. I would be going even more crazy. I think you're right about taking it with a grain of salt... I know they would have a lot of unhappy people if they really did wait that long.

I'm going in Jan and Currently I'm just saving for the current full pricing plus a couple hundred extra. With any luck they'll have the same RO discount as this year.

Just realize though that all the January folks are in the same boat as us. So only the Dec folks who are checking in late dec staying into the first week of Jan have the 10 days over those checking in the first week. And only those who booked a RO reservation for Jan (which I don't think is a whole lot) have the 10 day advantage, so I wouldn't worry a whole lot about getting your ADRs but if you are you can always book that RO.

I'm a TA. It says packages for Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Aulani will be available 7/30/14. Packages valid for arrivals 1/1/15 - 12/31/15.

That's great! I was hoping to call on August 1st to book our stay, so it works out just in time. Still would have preferred sooner so I have a better idea for our savings plan, but oh well, this works for me. Yay!

Thank goodness. You know, I think what was driving me nuts the most was not knowing the date. Now I know. Now I can stop banging my head against the wall that is Disney's website checking to see if they're available and actually have a life again.
