2015 Rate Watch

Hopefully they don't wait until really late to announce early year discounts. Last few years they announced them late Sep - Early October.

How do you sign up for these emails?

I did find a link on the WDW website that says the packages will be released July 30, 2014: (remove the "e" at the beginning)

I got mine because I'm a TA, and I'm guessing that's how everyone else got there notifications too.

Why do you think Disney has waited this late in the year to post them? Didn't they used to post them in June or early July? I wonder what their motivation is this year?

yeah they lost my hotel money to dvc rental by waiting so long...

Ugh, got tired of waiting and called to get our ressies for next year, another 2 weeks is too much, lol!

I know it doesn't really matter, but wanted to have it done so I could move on to obsessing over other stuff.

Actually got a pretty decent CM (it's always like playing roulette when you call) so it wasn't too painful, and both ressies linked fine in MDE. I forgot to ask, but he didn't say anything about the rates adjusting once they are released, so maybe those were the "real" 2015 rates that he gave me.

As the previous poster stated, TAs get them and while I'm not a TA, I work in a seperate department and still get all the correspondences literally jumped out of my seat this AM and did a little happy dance ha!

I wouldn't mind if they sneak peeked them and we could atleast see them, and just not make reservations yet haha. I'm really trying to judge how much I need to start cutting back. A CM during a chat told me I could call reservations and get a quote with 2015 rates so I might do that this afternoon.

In another news we we're waiting for rates to come out to decide between two resorts. We just decided last night just to go ahead and stay at POR.

Yes it is! I actually start to get depressed before the trip because I know it is all almost over. Love the planning stages.

Thats what i've done so far, I added like 5% to my total. I've literally looked at historical rates and discounts for hours to get an idea. I just want a concrete number to look at. I could put money in a savings account, butttt I suck and i'd rather start paying on things so I know the money goes to that haha.

I called this morning and they were able to give room only prices at the 2015 rates but she said I would have to wait until the 30th for the full package price. It definitely gave me a bit of a better idea what to expect though.

This is what I think i'm gonna do. I'm curious though as this is my first time planning a Disney vaca.. what is the "package" price. Like is there a discount booking as a package, or are they referring to just individual prices for magic your way tickets and dinning? Does that make sense?

I ended up calling cause I was curious.. For June 1st-8th in a standard room at POR he quoted me $1544 including the tax. Using this years rate with tax is $1320. So that comes out to almost an extra $40 per night which is wayyy out of what I calculated :/

40 more a night?! For a MODERATE? WTH?

That means values are probably going up 20-25 a night. Given that they are often around 100 bucks...that's a 20% increase!!

Even 40 more a night for a deluxe would be about a 10% increase. That's just CRAZY!
