I hadn't noticed August 2015 prices on there before when I've been looking. Just saw them today. However, no DVC resort prices yet and no offers. But it does give an idea of price I guess, for anyone that is interested.

Virgin holidays have released prices online now too. At the moment, they are wanting almost £11k for a family of 4 (2 ad, 2 ch) for a 3 week stay at OKW, with flights from Manchester (tickets not included) :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I am seriously hoping prices reduce with offers :sad2: I won't be booking at those prices.

Travel City Direct are cheaper, ironically owned by VH, I just booked FQ for end of October and with PE return flight still cheaper than VH just flying Econ. For some reason the tickets and DDP are cheaper too. AKL was cheaper that FQ, but, I do like my FQ

The prices on Disney aren't too much more than 2014 , from what I remember offers come out around May time so hopefully the prices won't be too bad for OKW. I know we waited till June as Thomas Cook flights hadn't been released, but I think Thomson released flight prices in May. Virgin are always way more than booking separately! :coffee:

They don't seem much more then 2014! Although Glad I booked with the room discount for CL or the same week next year would have been nearly £3k in 2015!

Thank you room discount!

Travel City Direct seemed to allow 5 people in a studio at OKW.
A further £1800ish for a 1 bed.:scared1:

At the moment, TCD are even more - wanting £12.5k for a family of 4. Seriously, does anyone pay that kind of money. I am beginning to wonder if we are going to be able to afford 3 weeks. When I have looked at August this year the prices are nowhere near that....

Am I doing something wrong :confused3?

There is currently a room discount on so if your searching for this year it may be applying the 30-40% off room discount. But there are no discounts for 2015 yet :)

From what I've seen in previous years you're best off ignoring the first prices that come out - I'd imagine that for legal reasons they can't heavily discount hotels without publishing the rack rates first. In another few weeks the discounts will become available (personally I'm crossing my fingers for 40% off DVC and free dining which has been the norm for the last couple of years)

Yeah - that's what I've found. But even still, I wonder if many people do book on those prices without realising (you know, if they come from Mars or something!) ;)

I am hoping for the exact same deal to make it do-able for us :rolleyes1

Never thought of it like that - same as any retailer - even if they offer full price for a day, they can then advertise % off. I guess I was just shocked by breaking the £12k barrier!

So many people are waiting now for 2015 - wish they'd get a move on popcorn::

Ok I've done some very rough maths, based on the previous offers from the last couple of years

The price of a two week stay at ASM for the last week in October, first in November booked through WDW is £1120, room only.

The same hotel booked with TCD but including flights is £3225.

This means that as a rough guideline the price of the flights is £2105.

OKW booked as a package with flights through TCD is £5508. Less the rough costs of flights that is £3403 (again this is a very, very rough figure)

Now based on the previous years discounts of 40% at OKW and SSR £3404 - £1361 = £2042.

So based on the cost of tickets that's up on the wdw website and the assumption of the return of free dining the cost of our holiday *should* be £2889 without flights. This guesstimate makes a lot of assumptions but if you do the same maths with your dates it should give you a very rough idea of how much you might pay. (and yes, I am aware of how many mights and maybe's there are in that statement!)

Can see where you are coming from with that. But we are going in August (has to be school holidays), so I know we will pay more than that for direct flights. I have £800 pp in my head, anything less will be a bonus, anything more and I will be upset :lmao:.

We also plan to go for 3 weeks, budget permitting. I just don't think we'll get to do as much as we have planned in 2 weeks (I know we won't get everything done even in 3, but it's more do-able with more down time added). It is a special holiday as myself and my Mum are celebrating special birthdays, so 3 weeks is a one off for us. (I'd love to say Orlando is a one off too but I read the comments on here too often and said the same about DLRP although I've now been several times :rotfl:).

I have been watching August 2014 holidays for a few months but unfortunately didn't do this while the free dining offers were on (early in the season prices), so it is a bit of a guesstimate. I see WDW offer about 35-40% off on room discount at the mo, but doesn't take into account any premium for 'free' DP being added.

I have a great TA onto it for me, so I'm hoping she comes up trumps, in the meantime I'll keep an eye out myself too :thumbsup2.

Or have more money than sense ;)

Me too!! :) I found my confirmation email off Virgin from our trip in October 2012 so I priced it up for Oct 2015 (even though we want to go in May - just to get some idea of price increases) it came in over £900 dearer and that was without free DDP, and we also had a $300 gift card last time too. I love flying with Virgin, either as a package or separately with VA, but we will be waiting for offers or looking at other options.

It's insane isn't it, I've just paid £11,000 to stay at SSR for 14 nights with tickets & free dining for 3adults 3 kids, plus £1095 for a wk at universal not including tickets :( or spending money!!!
I just can not believe how much it is to take a holiday and stay on site!

If it goes up much more then we won't go for 2years and instead will save for dvc! Since we're going to need the points lol if it carries on like this.

Or I'll have up do the dreaded off site villa that I know I won't enjoy half as much, although I understand other family's love them I love being on site:(

Travel City Direct seemed to allow 5 people in a studio at OKW.
A further £1800ish for a 1 bed.:scared1:

How would you sleep 5 in a studio? Is it not tiny with only 1 bed and a sofa? Curious as although we do a 2 bed as my mum comes, we Wong Nd taking her anymore after this year, she is 81 and to be honest does not do enough to justify the price we pay for her!

OKW only sleep 4 in a studio - I think TCD have it wrong :scared1:

OKW has 2 queen beds in the studios - all over DVC have bed and sofa bed.

Last years OKW/SSR Discount was only 35% therefore realistically I would guess the 2015 discount will be only 30% if they discount at all. The room only discounts in the US have decreased too - a couple of years ago a 40% AP rate was common where now the most is about 35%.

As Elise79 states, OKW currently only sleeps 4 and also the 2015 points charts list a maximum of 4 in a studio.

But as joolz1910 pointed out, Travel City is currently allowing bookings from January 2015 for up to 4 adults and one child in an OKW studio.

So either it's a mistake/glitch which would either need an upgrade to a 1-bed or a cancellation, or Travel City's been lead to believe that the OKW studio's will be upgraded to sleep up to 5 and so similar to a Grand Floridian Villas studio.

There's also been talk that sometime this year when the Wilderness Lodge Villas rooms are upgraded the studios will include a sleeper chair or Murphy bed so sleeping 5, but the WLV 2015 points chart is still showing a maximum of 4 in a studio.

Tried a few dates in 2014 and Travel City's not offering a studio for 5 at OKW, so is this a glitch or of changes to come.

Was it only 35% discount? Damn, that means my slightly obsessive maths is wrong! :rotfl:

However Virgin does have the prices for room only bookings up which includes DVC.

I got 40% in October off the Poly so they still do 40 for some resorts
