2015 Disney Vacation Club Resorts Points Charts Changes

Please note certain changes to the room categories within the 2015 Disney Vacation Club Resorts Points Charts for Disney's Vero Beach Resort and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawaii. All other charts remain unchanged, aside from the usual adjustment for seasonality.

Disney's Vero Beach Resort

• Due to particular viewing obstructions, several previously categorized "Deluxe Inn Room Ocean View" rooms have been re-categorized as "Deluxe Inn Room Garden View" rooms. As a result, you will see changes in the vacation point values for 2015.

Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawaii

• A small number of Villas were converted into additional Resort amenities as part of the expansion at Aulani. To supplement the inventory, Members will see a new room category reflected in the 2015 Aulani vacation points charts – "Hotel Room". Reservations are scheduled to begin late January 2014. Call Member Services for more details.

Noticed the Aulani changes. Anyone know how many hotel rooms they put into DVC inventory to offset the loss of rooms to Ulu Cafe?

As of yesterday, that information had not yet been given to the Cast Members at Member Services. I'm not sure if DVD has actually included specific hotel units in the Aulani Condominium Association or if it is merely making some hotel rooms available to DVC members to book using points. Its a minor point, but important in understanding the regulatory standing of these new hotel rooms vis a vis the rest of the DVC resort.

I find it intriguing that compared to the 2014 chart the point costs of the Grand Villas are changing. In 2015, Standard View Grand Villas are going up slightly and Ocean View Grand Villas are going down. However, the point costs in 2015 are identical to the point costs in 2013, so DVD essentially tossed out the 2014 point chart and reverted to the 2013 point chart for 2015. To me, that is interesting.

I'll be posting more about the implications of Aulani's 2015 point chart.

I keep thinking there should be more official information released on the Aulani changes. However, maybe they aren't really a big deal. I'm interested in reading everyone's thoughts on it.
