2015 FREE DINING THREAD _ All Questions HERE!!

HELP:

so on the dis website I was quoted 4720.. but my TA quoted me 4930ish, I can't seem to figure out why. my original quote directly from the disney website was including insurance, flights, AKL, free dining & 3 day PH.

I believe she said we shouldn't get 3 day PH because we have to use them consecutively.. which means we'd have to go all 3 days in a row, rather than our plan to take a couple days off before hand. so she has us getting a 7 day PH which we have no use for the first 2 days anyway.

any input? is it true they must be consecutive? i've never heard of this before.. we're canadian so what she's quoting us in USD we be well over 6200 in CAD.. with an original budget of 5500 max.
Tickets are good for 14 days upon first entering the parks and does not have to be consecutive!

Does a park hopper package come with admission for everyone in your party as well, or is that just for the water parks option?

We have never been to Disney Quest, but this year we are doing a two week trip, so I'm sure we will have time to fit it in!!

Thanks!

No, a park hopper pass is specifically for going to multiple base parks only (MK, AK, Epc, HS) in one day. It doesn't come with admissions to other parks.

That is where it's nice that your reservation comes with two complimentary admissions to disney quest but you'll have to pay for anyone else in your party.

No they don't have to be used consecutively, you just have to use them up within 14 days of first use.

The clock doesn't start ticking until you use them the first time. Many people buy multiple groups of tickets as a hedge against future price increases because the unused tickets never expire.

so now that I was able to get free dining I am now thinking of upgrading to the deluxe dining plan. do to so all I have to do is pay the difference between the two plans right?

so its is the difference between $60.04 & $109.53 so that's would be $49.49 per person per day to upgrade ?

I booked our package with 4 day park hoppers. If we decided to add a day, can it be done after we've used the ticket? Like if we go three days and we have one more day left and decide we want a 5th day in the parks, can we add it then?

My understand is you can add more days as long as you still at least 1 day left on your ticket.

All packages come with two single admission vouchers. If you have 4 people in your room, only two can get in free. The other people have to purchase a ticket. If you are utilizing the PH, just add the WP&M option to all of your tickets. It's only $27 more to have both options applied, and you'll have lots of options to use on non park days.
Do you know those coupons expire at the end of the stay? I have a resort stay before a cruise. Curious if I could use them after after the cruise?

They are only valid during your stay dates, and they can only be used by people on the reservation.

This one?

Columbus Day week will be very heavy. Many schools have fall break that week, and they are not flexible with their schedules.

I chose the Friday (10-16) as our check-in day based on the "crowds" rating - supposedly that week is rated as a "3 - Low" starting on 10-17, and now because it's not free dining, I'm hoping that the rating is more accurate.:teeth:

I have an 8 day park hopper booked through a TA. If while in the park, I decide to add a 9th day and go the morning before our flight leaves how do I add this? Do I have to go through my TA and can I visit one of the Disney park gates. Is it still as cheap as adding a 9th day now?

...And that second part is great info! Since I was able to drop a day last year I assumed it would be the same this year. Where exactly is that new rule listed and how would I have known that it changed? It's something I can look for in the future. I did just try to modify my reservation to drop one day and it shows no availability. I'm still undecided whether I really wanted to drop that day anyway. Thanks for the update!

From what I have heard, one of the big reasons they are changing this policy is because so many people would front-load their real dates with bogus dates in order to get ADRs and FP+ reservations. Then right before the 45 day mark, they would call in and drop the first days, leaving them with the dates and reservations they wanted.

Seems only right that some kind of penalty is imposed for changing dates, just like in other industries...like air travel...yikes! We've been really spoiled with Disney's policy of holding a reservation for only a deposit right up until 45 days before arrival...and because some folks find a way to manipulate the system to their advantage, everyone will pay the price.

I agree, they have very lenient policies. Which is surprising given the effect that switching reservations has on them. However, you're right, it will affect everyone in the end if that's the case.

All most of us want is to be able to go in and pick our dates and book the deal. That's already hard due to politics on both sides (like the stuff you mentioned). Thankfully disney travelers are much more friendly than others I've encountered when things don't go as planned.

Just found a Nemo suite at AoA for the first time. Switched my Lion King suite to Nemo! Website worked like a charm -finally!
Lucky!! I have been looking for a Nemo…have Lion King as well…and it never shows available when I check online. Just waited on hold for over 2 hours for the CM to tell me no as well. I was afraid to do anything online as I didnt want to screw up what I have. If a Nemo becomes available will I just click on that button and hit change? Before it lets me look at what is available there is a box that says something about changes and I don't want to mess up :)

I was told that you can go to guest relations and add a day at the discounted price as long as you have at least 1 day left on your tickets. I have never done this but might this year and that is what my TA told me.
