2015 FREE DINING THREAD _ All Questions HERE!!

Same here! I've called two different numbers 50 times each. My sis seems to think if we wait and call tomorrow they'll help us, I've never done this so idk.

MissMaryQC, I would feel better if a few others would post that they're having the same problem, having booked a moderate with regular dining but getting an email confirmation listing quick service. Of course people would have to be able to successfully book FD first. Admittedly I booked very quickly just before 6:00 CDT knowing that the server would probably blow up quickly, as it did. The confirmation I printed when I booked lists "Disney Dining Plan (Complimentary)", which I figured meant the regular dining. I've booked FD at values with free Quick Service dining before and I'm pretty sure it always specified Quick Service Dining Plan, like my erroneous email confirmation is doing now. My reservation in MDE reads "MYW Pkg + FREE Dining" and "Dining Plan: 2015 Table Service Meals - Child, 2015 Table Service Meals - Adult, 2015 Quick Service Meals". We have two adults and one child.

We can probably get it straightened out tomorrow, esp. since I'm pretty sure the error is on their end, but I'd still feel better if I could talk to someone now.

Wooo Hooo Got Pop Nov 9-23 - wheelchair King room for my parents with upgraded meal plan. Now I get the added challenge of booking all their dining.

Can anyone clarify this

Paperless Tickets that are expired, in-use or that were purchased as part of a package cannot be assigned to anyone else.
Only the owner of a ticket may assign it to another Guest.

I was going to get them only a 2 day ticket and hang onto it since they have older tickets already but wasn't sure about this, seems like the 2nd part reverses the 1st part.

My mom just made her regular reservation for Pop century this morning (FD wasn't available for our dates and no RO discount has been announced yet either for later in October). If she's on a different reservation, but will be doing the same FP+ and dining experiences, can I just link her reservation to mine so I can get them all booked together?
You should not have any problems linking the two reservations.

For those who got through on the phone, what was your wait time? Im at 1 hr and 34 minutes and counting.

I was on hold for 2 hours and 11 minutes (only to be connected to a rude and uninformed cast member). No discounts for me! Going to try to call back later to see if I can at least get a room discount, as I suppose all possibility of free dining will be gone by the time I get to talk to someone again.

This is a known glitch, a few people have reported talking to Disney and them verifying it. I wouldn't stress. If you booked a MOD, you'll get the regular plan. Try not to worry :)

Yep, because I was fully prepared to stay offsite if I couldn't get FD to work out for me. I originally wanted to stay at a moderate, but over the course of the past few days of following these threads I realized if I wanted to have a chance to get FD I would need to try to get Pop and upgrade dining. With the addition of the PH ticket requirement Disney just about priced me out, but my costs of staying offsite in a 2 bedroom timeshare resort and paying OOP for parking and dining (although on different dates) is almost exactly the same as what I'm paying for a preferred room at Pop with upgraded "free" dining. If I am lucky enough to get an offer code for a standard at POR or POFQ, then I would be willing to pay the extra $100 above what I'm currently booked. But that's it! Another $100 - $200 of pricing tricks and I would have definitely said to heck with it and stayed offsite, and would have been perfectly happy. Though following this FD drama has been fun, I think I see more offsite trips in the future, if this is the state things are going to be, lol. :)

We stayed offsite for our first trips to Disney World until last year because we really thought that staying on property was just something that was out of our budget. As much as we planned to cook meals at the condo and save money on food and room, etc, it actually ended up costing us more. I don't cook and after a day at the park my husband wasn't too keen on cooking either so we either ate at the parks or in restaurants more than we planned. When we add that to the cost of driving 40+ miles to the parks each day and paying parking and the time spent being shuttled from the parking lots to the parks... let's just say the resorts really made a difference for us. Having said that, if I hadn't been eligible for free dining I wouldn't have purchased a dining plan at all and would have just budgeted meals and done a lot of sharing and bringing our own snacks.

AHHHHHHHHHHH, I MADE IT ALL THE WAY TO THE CHECKOUT PAGE and then I think it froze. It still shows Woody with "Please wait while we complete your request" but the page isn't showing as loading anymore. :sad1:

My TA is at this point too.

Congrats Aubrav! So happy for you! I got my preferred resort and dates, but didn't want to post anything until yours went through. I've enjoyed all of your posts, help and enthusiasm! Now you can relax and have a Disney day :)

Awww, thank you so much!!! And, for future reference, I can be completely excited for you even if I'm not getting what I want. I like all of us celebrating the ups as well as encouraging the downs :D

Tons of people have posted about this issue. Its a common glitch. If you booked a Mod or Deluxe then you got the Disney Dining Plan. If you booked a value you got quick service.

i booked CBR and my email confirmation says quick service, but MDE says DDP. You will be fine.

Whoa, that's an insanely huge discount... and here I am celebrating about $400, you just bought yourself a 2nd vacation!

We're 4 adults, staying for 13 nights. So Free Dining is an absolutely fabulous discount. And what a great place to celebrate than disboards! Anyone else that's trying to modify online, keep at it. I was refreshing the page every time I got an error. Finally, things started going through.

I know some people are upset about people booking before the deals came out but I know in my case I booked before the deal came out because I was going with or without a discount and wanted to make sure a standard room was available. When I plan trips I plan them at rack rate, that way I know I can afford to go. The free dining was a perk I wasn't counting on, I gladly would have paid for a full price standard view room if that was all that was available but I was not willing to risk being completely shut out.
This was us too. Our dates were set - vacation requests had to be submitted to our employers so why not book and have it set when our dates are set in stone? That and to catch my 180+10 date :) Yes Free dining is a perk that I am glad to have considering all of the character meals we do but we had budgeted for the full price - now I just have more shopping money!!! :)

I DID IT! I AM THE KING OF THE WORLD! I officially have All Star Sports standard booked in lieu of POP reducing my balance from $3120 to $2744. Now I can be excited and unstressed! And thanks to all of you, I can be excited about the choice to save money instead of stay at our preferred resort!

Yea! Aubrav!!!! VERY HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!:tongue::tongue::tongue::tongue::tongue::tongue::tongue::tongue::tongue::tongue:

After trying all morning online, I finally got our trip booked (December 19th-25th) at SPORTS we've never stayed there before only POP, but DS has been wanting to...now I just have to explain to my husband why I moved our trip up 3 months!!
