2015 DVC Alaska Member Cruise 5/25-5/31/15

Thanks, too, to the many we met along the way! When one of our group said, "Are you Jay Kat?" when I told a guide I was from Kansas, it made me smile so much. We met FANTASTIC tablemates on this thread, and couldn't have asked for better company at meals and shows. Johnny Quest and Poison Ivy shared an excursion with us (whale watching - HIGHLY recommend it!) and we so enjoyed their family and our time with them. Just wish we would have crossed paths more, although we DID spend a morning in a train car together and didn't know it! THe information gained from this thread was spectacular, but the friends we made from this thread are what we will treasure. Thank you, one and all!

What an amazing trip! My family all agreed "BEST VACATON EVER" which makes me the BEST MOM EVER for booking it. Thanks to everyone on board for showing so much patience with my boys when they got a little over-excited (which was a LOT).

What a great vacation! Hope to meet more of you next time! I agree that the FE gifts and DVC gifts were above and beyond expectations. We also lucked out in table mates, too. Alaska was beautiful, and Vancouver might have the nicest people on the planet. Now to organize the pictures we took, and finish unpacking! Deb and Jed O'Brien

Hands down this was THE BEST Vacation!! Who can even believe the weather we had. 80's in every port. Beautiful clear sunny skies. Spectacular views as far as you could see. Loved this cruise so much.

A special thanks as well to EVERYONE in our FE Group A. There was so much thoughtfulness. We really had a lot of fun.

Believe it or not, we are still on vacation, visiting our daughters in CA. My grandkids loved those chocolate taffies from Boston. They tore through our suitcase with so much excitement and immediately took possession of the cool markers; pencils; hot chocolate; Disney themed flashlights; cars land stamps and princess stickers and 2 pair of little gloves - one pink and another with the Mickey buttons sewed on. Then they found both the Mickey and Frozen Rice Crispie treats we had! It was wonderful.

Iron Man made good use of that hamper right away.

Jay Kat, I still can't believe we rode the same car of the White Pass Rail with you and never knew it. Very happy and surprised to see you both in a few pics I took right off the ship that morning and around the train. Almost have them ready to send your way. It was so great whale watching and touring Mendenhall glacier with you. What a fantastic day!!

and a special thank you to JimmyL47 and his wife for an incredible day of fishing in Ketchikan. We just feasted on our catch last night. It was a big hit.

also thanks to everyone else we met on this cruise. Tidefan, DebL and of course DisneyBelle99 - you guys are great. and to everyone else I may have forgotten to mention. We only wish we could have met more of you.

Christine

We met a woman at the Pan Pacific meet Sunday night, she has a son who lives near Boulder, CO. We would like to contact her, please help if you can.

Some of you had the most beautiful FE's -- the ones that said "Cruisin' with Mickey" -- and I'd like to know where you got them. DebL, I know you had one. Who made them? Can you tell I'm already planning for the next cruise, when I hopefully won't forget our door magnets at home :(

Thanks!

Thought it would be a good idea to post some more pics.

Member Cruise commemorative lanyards.

The Gold CC gift was a backpack and umbrella

The DVC gifts were amazing. Who can forget what was waiting for us our very first night!

hat and scarf

travel mug

a bag of "movies momentos" in tribute to the many great films we were shown.

Inside Out T-shirt and Lava marquee card (both premiered on our cruise w/special guests including Pixar reps and Lava director James Ford Murphy)
/ Avengers cinch bag / Tomorrowland pin / Cinderella magnet / Disney Nature - Monkey Kingdom button / Inside Out collector card.

So it turns out I'm a real doofus. I forgot my password and got locked out and was unable to get back on here to give our cabin number. I'm so sorry y'all!! Someone on another board suggested we hang our FE anyway because some people pass out pixie dust to randam FE's and we did get some! Thank you to whoever it was!!

We did book another cruise and I've written down my new password here now so I won't get locked out again!!

Oh can everyone share pictures of their FE gifts to give us inspiration for our next cruise and keept the fun going here?!

If they have it set the same way as they did on the old forum software, you can't send PMs until you've made a set number of posts. I believe the old forum software was set to 10 posts before you could send PMs.

I thought I had already received messages here but maybe it was the other forum I tried to join?

Figures the one that accepted me into a group almost last minute is the one I'd forget the password too!

FEGifts.jpg Going through our stuff and these are some gifts we received without tags. Can you all tell me if thery're from folks here or random pixie dust? Thank you!

So sorry AngelaCruises! You were in my group and I asked a couple others that were also in it if they had found out your cabin number but no one had! :/ I even checked on this thread to see if it popped up! So I gave your gift and blessed someone else with it! It was my 1st FE but 15th cruise! We had fun with the whole experience! Great cruise - great memories!

I tried to copy this from my post on another thread.......
View attachment 102449 View attachment 102464 View attachment 102466 We were also on the DVC Members Cruise, incredibly good! Somebody asked about how close the ships get to the town....this is one of my favorite pictures, because it shows how close! This is Skagway.
We stayed at the Fairmont Pacific Rim before the cruise. If you belong to the Fairmont President's Club, or are eligible for a Friends and Family discount, this is a hotel that offers first class service, with the nicest people on earth. This was our first time in Canada, and we were blown away by how nice everyone was! They even have a service that will take you over to the ship at no charge (besides a tip). Need lots of tip money if you don't have your own car. Doormen will call you a cab. Cab drivers ask about what your plans are for the day, can they help suggesting nearby places, etc. Free Wifi in the rooms and common areas if you are a President's Club member. Room service even if you plane gets in late. A coffee shop/wine bar and a small marketplace that sells paninis, etc. The roof has a pool and cabanas, whirlpool, and food service. We toured Stanley Park, which was beautiful. The walk along the water was great.
My absolute favorite picture (can you guess from my dis name) has to be with Belle! As you can tell from the way we are dressed, I was warm that day, and went with the summer dress, and my DH thought it was Christmas pictures. We were pleasantly surprised with the weather, and certainly overpacked.
We did the Liarsville excursion in Skagway. It was a lot of fun, and included panning for gold, a show, a Salmon bake, and Disney characters.
Here is a picture from the Character Breakfast, which our servers told us about the day before. Still getting all our pictures together, have downloaded them all, sent some off to Walgreens, and hope to share some more soon. We used our Sony Cybershot and my I phone. I was shocked with the great quality pictures I got with my iphone 6. So good.

It's ok totally my fault! Glad you were able to share it with someone else! Do you recognize any of the gifts I posted above? Trying to figure out if they were from our group or random gifts. Thanks!
