2015 DVC Alaska Member Cruise 5/25-5/31/15

I finally got home (3 day train ride) and got all settled in (had cabinets for kitchen redo delivered the day after we got home, so crazy), caught up on work, blah blah blah, so now am finally getting around to thanking everyone for the wonderful FE gifts in Adult group A. FUN and all so thoughtful. Thank you all for helping to make this magical cruise even better.

Poison, thanks for the pics. One thing I noticed when I was pulling my pictures off and editing them was what I THOUGHT was beautiful and incredible early on, and even Tracy Arm Day (early in the arm), paled in comparison to what I saw later. Higher mountains, more glaciers, closer wildlife.......the photos got better and better! I can see this is true for others, too. FABULOUS trip. I am still far from "over" it.

Earlier this week we received a DCL mailing with a magnet for Castaway Club and a 10% discount good through the end of this month. We have never booked a Disney Cruise other than the 2 Member cruises.....if we book a cruise for next year, would we be able to transfer over that discount when/if the 2016 Member cruise is announced?

I would guess that the answer is no. DVC charters the whole ship, and I don't think they give any discounts.

I got the magnet but I didn't see anything about a discount. Was it in the letter? Or on a separate item? I skimmed the letter and may have missed it and tossed it I could really use it for the Norway cruise we're seriously considering.

It was on a white page inside the same folder as the magnet. Last time we didn't get one.

And Yes! 5/29 is the one we're probably going to do. Sure wish it was a member cruise though. So spoiled after AK. I'm surprised they haven't announced them yet. I was already booked on the AK one by this time last year. I've been dragging my feet to book this one hoping they'd announce them in case it was more appealing.

The rumor is next years Member Cruise may be a 4 nt. NE cruise out of NYC in late Sept. 2016 - but nobody is expecting an announcement before the Aug Member Cruise sails. So I'm guessing we'll hear something late next month or early Sept.

DW is platinum and I am gold, so not sure if that is the reason. We actually booked this while on board to get the 10% discount and OBC. Should be a great trip!

I called the CC line at DCL today and was told only those who had never sailed before got the 10% off coupon. They also said the print is sent based on times sailed.

I honestly didn't see it as a cruise to nowhere.

I saw something more along the lines of this itinerary:

departs NYC
at Sea
either: Halifax, Nova Scotia or St John, New Brunswick (since we can't do both)
at Sea
returns NYC
