2014 packages

I talked to Southwest this week and they are opening up booking on June 24th.

what do you mean by this ? Southwest is booking Disney packages or something starting that week ? Meaning Disney would be open as well ?

Yes, but that will be at Rack rate for the packages.

The discounts/promo's ie: Room discount , Free Dining, Play, stay , Dine or whatever promo they come out with for 2014 won't be released on the 10th.

And that is what we are all talking about. The veterans know how this works. The package rates come out. Disney figures out how many people will book at rack rate and then the discounts begin based on bookings for times of years at rack rates.

Promos will roll out in time frames and then when one discount ends, the next begins.

Disney will stick their toes in the water to see if their rates will be accepted for 2014 bookings and then the big team sits around a round table and decide where they can start offering discounts to fill rooms or where people will be willing to pay the rack rate.

Disney is a business; think outside the box.

July 10th, mark your calendars!

The 2014 Walt Disney World® Resort, Disneyland® Resort and Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa vacation packages will be available to book starting on July 10, 2013.

That's why we never jump the gun and book right away. The more rack rooms occupied the less likely for a good promo!

This is an interesting thread.

I've just booked my May 2014 package with Virgin (well travelcity) in the UK.

I've got 4 x economy seats on direct Virgin flights
2 weeks at the POR with a waterview room
14 day park tickets / hopper passes
DDP - Basic
4x4 SUV complete with full insurance and GPS..
Cost was 6K GBP (9250USD)

In the UK, thats about standard for this type of holiday, in fact, it's worked out cheaper than last years stay for 10 days at ASMo

Would you consider my deal bad, average or good and should I have held off placing the business until Disney release their deals / packages for May 2014?

Intrigued to know
