Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has noticed this:

When booking in 2013 at POR, we paid a bit of a premium on our King room, but this year that premium seems to have gone CrAzY .....

Most prices on rooms haven't changed from last year, standard room is $3 more per weekend night, Weekday is the same.

Garden View is the exact same.

KING rooms, are $18 more per week night and $12 more per weekend night....

2013 POR prices: April/May
Standard 188/213
Garden 200/225
King 215/240

2014 POR Prices: April/May
Standard 188/216
Garden 200/225
King 233/252

What gives ???

Anyone else notice the same with different resorts !???

CBR 2013 April/May

Standard 188/213
Water 213/238
King 213/238

CBR 2014 April/May

Standard 188/216 (same increase as POR)
Water 215/240 (tiny increase, $2/day)
King 221/251 (Again, a rather large increase)

I noticed a hefty increase in preferred room at POR as well-$25 MORE per night in 2014 for preferred than 2013 rates.

This will be the third year for the additional booking categories at POR; I think they saw how quickly they book.

Which mystifies me, because I have stayed in places in the mansions that I thought were close enough to the main amentities, but I guess if you have children, it is probably better to be as close as you can get.

Supply and demand.

When they put the RR's in Oak Manor and Parterre Place, they took out all the king bed rooms in those two buildings. So there are that many less king bed rooms, so low supply and high demand.

People are willing to pay for it. What bothers me is that the king bed rooms are also the handicapped accessible rooms and now that means they are paying a premium to stay at that resort, when that is their only choice of room at POR.

They have a ton of garden view rooms, so it stands to reason they won't benefit from raising the price. Standard rooms as well.
