2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival 9/19-11/10

I can't think of too many situations where Saturday would be preferable to Sunday. I've always found Sundays to be busy, but manageable.

The last Sunday of the F&W is horrible .. The prior Saturday is better because all the runners are avoiding alcohol. Sunday is the day after ... And a zoo. (In a fun way if you're social and patient)

Other than that weekend, you're prob spot on!

Tower of Terror 10 miler is on October 3rd and 4th. I am not sure what impact it will have on F&W as it's centered around Studios, but it might add to the Sunday crowds as folks won't be able to tour as much on Saturday.

Wine and Dine half is on the last full weekend and the "runners' won't be your problem. It's a Saturday evening run that ends at Epcot.

Disney sells "after party tickets that get you into Epcot at 7 and let you stay until something like 4 in the morning. So a lot of us (like me) will be there to support our runners on Saturday adding to the already packed last weekend... Considering the "runners" and friends could potentially be up until 4 AM Sunday might be LESS crowded LOL!

Just announced by the Disney blog reservations for the special events will open for calls at 7am (EST) on July 31st with info posting to the website on July 24th.

SO happy to hear that it's starting a week earlier which means my hubby and I can experience it for the first time during our Sept Trip! YES! :hyper:

Thanks for the head's up! Now I have to ask my boss if I can have a few hours off the morning of 7/31.

Wonder if Disney Visa cardholders will be able to make reservations a day in advance like last year?

This was my understanding as well. To be fair, I don't know what the final Sunday is like, but I assumed runners & runner friends would spend their Saturday evening at the post-race party and then use Sunday to rest.

I just warn you.. My friends and I will be back Sunday afternoon. We make a weekend of it :) (And it's a big group. We will not be drunk, but the "judgemental" will assume we are. One of our activities is watching people assume "if it's a group they are drunk" :happytv:)

Thanks! I was thinking trying to sneak a quick trip in for the October 25 weekend but not sure that PFTS is worth the $300 price.

Wonder what the Boot Camp is?

Italian White Wine dinner looks nice, but $$$. Glad to see the Parisian Breakfast is back, but I bet they limit the mimosas this year :)

"OMG look at those people having a good time and being a tiny bit loud. They must be so drunk!"

Let me tell you though... Spaceship Earth after a couple drinks is a LOT more fun.

I'm glad we have some info about dates of events and things.

Events opening on July 31st suck for me but thats part of my job. I guess I'm going to be telling my husband he gets to call in!

So the blog indicates "premium events" will be posted 7/24 and available for booking 7/31... Does that include the culinary demos or are those handled separately?

Does anyone know how many people fit at the PFTS reserved tables? We'll have 8 people altogether - would that be 2 tables? Thanks!

Ok now that they have announced the release date for the events do we know when they will release the country & food both info, or have I missed a post and it will be the same time as the events, July 31. We haven't been to F&W since 2012 so I can't remember.

Looks like they actually lowered the price on at least one event this year.
Shake and Indulge Like the French Featuring Grand Marnier (Saturdays beginning September 27) $55 pp

I'm pretty sure we paid $65 for Taste, Shake & Indulge last year. Wonder what they will be eliminating from the event.

It looks like they eliminated the "Taste!" No, I mean literally. The name is now "Shake & Indulge," right? Okay, okay, a lame attempt at a laugh... :)

I do not believe they have made an announcement, but if I were a gambling man I would wager they will release that information on the 31st as well. I think I saw on the DFB that kiosk menus went up on the 30th last year.

That's what I was thinking. Thanks!! :)
