2014 Candlelight Processional Reservation

I know; I've got 3 booked for the Nov. 30th, Dec 1st and Dec 4th shows. I'm hoping for Neil Patrick Harris. Unless they get someone really interesting in I'll be cancelling them all, lol.

NPH is supposed to be At WDW the 1st week of Dec--- I would assume that he would be doing "CP"- said he loves it!!

Yes, the past 2 years he's been there around the first of December, and that's what I'm hoping for. I have seen him (2012) but my DIL really wants to see him as she has not. I am on the fence about going again as we will have the little ones, but we'll see how it plays out. Two of my reservations are for the 6:45 show, and 1 is for the 8:15.

He always goes with his family that time of the year--- I had asked him if he was going to do "CP" this year, as his broadway run will be over--- he said "I love it, and if they ask me back, I am there"

I know - when I saw him in 2012 he joked that if we saw any kids acting up, they were his, lol!

Jealous of those of you who have spoken to NPH! Hoping to see him narrate in December.

I am assuming that tip is not included in the price of the CP, correct?
Just checking as this is our first CP and I want to be prepared.
Thanks:goodvibes

I am pretty sure tip in never included in anything, unless you have a large party - 6 or more I believe, and then they add the automatic 18% gratuity TO your bill, though, so technically, that's not "included" either.

That's why even with the dining plan or even with Free Dining, you still need to bring with you plenty of cash to Disney, especially if it's a long stay and you have multiple table meals per day. Those tips can really add up, especially at the signatures.

I'm surprised we still haven't heard any narrator news this week. I believe we should have a few more celebs added by the end of the month, judging by last year's thread.

I know tip is included w/ the dinner shows and CRT that you pay upfront for. I assumed it wasn't for this, since you don't pay upfront. But, figured it was worth double checking on since we've never been this time of year.:thumbsup2

I'd love to know who our celeb reader will be as well....

Okay ... really, really ready to hear who some of the other narrators will be this year. I was hoping that today would be the day, but nothing yet. Here is some pixie dust pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: maybe tomorrow.

Still watching and waiting. popcorn::

Really! They have Jodi Benson for Nov 28 & 29, but we're arriving on the 28th and on the 29th my son and DIL want to go see the Harry Potter area, so we have no clue who will be there Nov 30 - Dec 4th. We will be leaving on the 5th, and though we will be flying out at 8 pm that will not give us the time to see the Processional. Maybe this week!

Just wondering what is taking so long to fill those narrator spots! This wasn't the case last year! I think most of them were filled by end of July based on last year's thread. Wondering why there is such a delay this year. I'm just impatient LOL.

I've never done the CP and am dying to find out who my narrator will be and which one of my reservations I'm going to keep for it.

I didn't think they were all filled until the end of August last year. I've got one reservation held on a tbd night. If it's someone we want to see, we'll drive in a day early.

But there's alot of open dates still outstanding! Especially in the first 2 weeks of the month. I recall almost all, save some late dates being filled well by now. I guess every year is different.

I would have been happy with either Jodi Benson or Whoppi but they don't work for my schedule. I just hope it's not someone "boring", of course that means different things to different people LOL. I would be excited to get like Sigourney Weaver or Neil Patrick Harris or Susan Lucci for instance because I like them or am big fans of them. Some other choices are actors I'm just not interested in. I know the celebrity is only one part of it but I still want it to be someone I love.

I have seen boring (I won't say who) and I've seen Neil Patrick Harris, who was highly entertaining. The first narrator, I enjoyed the singing and the beautiful candlelight, but I couldn't wait for it to be over. NPH, I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and I saw him the second time. I think Jodi Benson would be terrific but she doesn't work with our schedule.

It would be very cool if I got to see NPH as I grew up watching Doogie Howser, M.D.! That would be a kick!

I honestly don't know if certain actors I hope I don't get would be "boring". I'm not really being fair to them. There are just some I don't watch their shows or listen to their music, so I am unfairly labeling them as "boring" when they might be great narrators. In fact, I have heard at least one of them described as a great narrator. Oh, well, we all have our faves I guess!

The biggest difference for me was that the first narrator basically read the story, with little inflection to his/her voice. There was no personal interaction, where NPH added some personal information, and injected his personality into the reading. Even while the choir was singing, he was interacting by nodding his head to the beat of the music, sometimes in an amusing way. You could also tell he had studied the script and knew what was coming up and interacted in that way as well.
IMO a good narrator does more than just reads the story. They have the ability to identify with the audience and interact with the story they are telling, even while just standing there; it even makes you eager to hear what is coming next, rather than hope the end is near, lol.

I know it's probably been asked (and answered) but what would be the benefit of booking a lunch CP over the dinner? I know the show is earlier, but is there any other benefit?
