Checked in an hour and a half ago. Room was not ready at 3pm. I'm almost 7 months pregnant. I started crying from exhaustion when they told me neither of our rooms were ready.... Long day at the park and Halloween party tonight. But sweet Julie from France got on the phone and found us two rooms!!! Love the service at the Grand! So ready for our 7 night stay!

We were originally adding one GF night at the beginning of our trip since I really wanted to stay there after seeing room pictures - we ended up having to change our dates so now we have 4 GF nights - super excited August can't get here soon enough!

I read a description somewhere about a sand bottom at a GF pool, which would be awesome - but I can't find that info anywhere else. Did they mix up their info with Stormalong Bay maybe?

Just a heads-up...early winter AP discount is out...I was able to apply the discount to my February RPC reservation!!!

GF pools are really nice, but they don't have a sand bottom like SAB. GF is really SO beautiful....you are going to love it! It's so convenient to MK too!

Thanks for the news on the discount Dispro! I just checked for my January trip, but they must be doing an update because there is a message on the booking site to try back later. I'm booked Kidani/BCV right now with my DVC, but would love to get a spot at the Grand or WL for part of the trip, which will depend on the discount.

This past month has been a total bear, so to cheer myself up I am sharing photo love for the Grand!

We are scheduled to check in in 34 days! Our original travel party included my parents, but my stepdad was diagnosed with cancer and will be in the middle of radiation, so they have cancelled their reservation. My adult brother was on their reservation, but we are planning to move him to ours tomorrow. Will 3 adults, a 5 year old and a 1 year old be uncomfortable in a standard room? We've considered trying to find a 1 bedroom villa, but my 5 year old has been so excited about staying where the princesses live.

We've managed to stay 4 adults and a young child in a room, granted it was Poly and Contemporary but the layout of the room at GF might make it doable. There is the fold down bed, so depending on how tall your brother is he might fit on that. It might be tight at times but it's doable. Sorry about your stepdad, dealing with cancer is words I can't say on the DIS.

The GF rooms are around 440 square feet, so I think you'll be fine as long as you guys are all comfortable being together. The bathrooms are separated in a way that makes it work, IMO. Good luck with your decision. I'm sorry about your stepdad, and I wish him well! Have a great trip

Sorry to hear about your stepdad. Most GF rooms have 2 queens & a day bed. So your adult brother could have the other queen, the 5yr old in the day bed, and your 1 yr old in a pack & play. You should be fine. The rooms have a balcony or patio as well for some extra space. Nice to have a place to hang out when the kids go to bed.

Guys I'm kind of disappointed. I went to give our daughter a bath after the Halloween party, and discovered 6 hairs in the bathtub, not all from someone's head, and none belonging to us. I'd already wiped down the room earlier with chlorox wipes, but I forgot to do the tub. I took photos and proceeded to clean the tub myself, but I'm going to ask the front desk in the morning if they can send housekeeping up to thoroughly clean our bathroom. Just ewww. Not what I expect from the Grand. I also think they've thinned out the menu at Gaspy's, several items that were there in December are gone.

It won't remove the discount because you will not exceed room occupancy so you won't have to change your reservation, but they will charge extra per night for the extra adult... I think it's $25?? I'm not exactly sure about the amount, although I'll know for sure soon enough since my oldest DD is 17 now...I guess our next fall break trip we will be paying the extra fee Someone else on here may be able to confirm the exact amount for the extra adult, if I am wrong.

Wish there was a way to get around that extra $25 a night charge for the extra adult. My son will be 21 for our August stay. It just kills me to pay extra, especially when the rooms are so expensive as it is.

I so agree! Someone has dropped the ball on that room. I would definitely let the front desk know, or housekeeping.

I agree with Lisann!! Go complain to a manager because that is disgusting and totally unacceptable, particularly for what you are paying! They can't take away the bad memory, but they can give you FPs for any ride, any time to make up for it!!
