I just had to comment on this. I posted on this thread (maybe last year's BC thread) and also in the BC pics thread that I had a room last year on the 5th Floor CL, off the top of my head I'm thinking 5699, that had the exact same noise!! And I actually snapped pics of the service elevator door outside of my room because that's where I suspected the noise was coming from. I can't believe they don't have enough complaints that they do something about it. The noise sounded like it was right in the wall near my head. It even woke DH up and he NEVER wakes up to noises. I did tell a CM about it and she acted very shocked and surprised, couldn't imagine what the noise was. We were only there 3 nights, so we dealt with it, but we won't be ok with it happening again in a few weeks when we stay there!

I remembered that post as I was reading the one above, but I couldn't remember who had posted that.

If they are going to be putting people in the rooms next to the service elevator, then they really shouldn't be running it during normal sleeping hours.

:sad2:

This may be an experience you want to share with Disney Guest Communications and the resort management, even though it happened some time ago. You want to make sure your concerns get to the people who are in a position to do something about it. A front desk CM can move you to another room, but they can't change policies like not placing guests in rooms like that or suspending operation of the service elevator overnight.

I looked at the rooms on touring plans. Assuming they have the rooms numbered correctly, it seems like the "699" rooms are pool view? That sounds awful. With luck, my request for close to Epcot and full balcony will keep me away from that area. I also picked high floor in the hopes we'd get a renovated room, but it doesn't sound like the floor you're on matters as far as getting the service elevator feature. I realize that not all rooms are going to be perfect in terms of what everyone would want, but Disney does seem to get away with assigning less than desirable space that costs a big chunk of change...

Comments, Compliments or Complaints:

Who can I contact if I have concerns about something during my vacation, I have a great suggestion or better still, to compliment something wonderful about my trip or to recognize a CM who helped make my stay magical?

If you have an issue while still at the World:

You can go to City Hall or Guest Relations during your stay

If there is a problem with your room or another issue at the resort, your best bet is to go to the FRONT DESK of the resort to let them know what the problem is. Do NOT call on the telephone with resort concerns WHILE you are AT THE RESORT. These calls just go to a generic call center and your concern is placed at the back of a list. Tell the people who are on site and chances are, if it is possible, your concern will be dealt with more quickly. They will do their best to help find a solution to your needs, whatever they may be. In the off chance that you find that your problem is not being addressed in an effective manner, request to speak with a MANAGER, who often has the experience to assist the CM in helping to find a solution to your problem.

Keep in mind that the staff at the resort can't read minds so be sure to talk to someone and let them know what the problem is.

After you have returned home from your stay:

email
wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

or send a letter to:
Walt Disney World Guest Communications
Executive Offices
Post Office Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830-0040

When you write or email, please include your name, address, phone number and email address.

If it is a comment specific to the Yacht & Beach Club, you can write to the General Manager of the resort (perhaps copy Guest Communications as well):

Mim Flynn, General Manager
Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
1800 EPCOT Resort Boulevard
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

On our arrival day we plan to unpack and hit the pool for an hour or two and then have dinner at Beaches N Cream...then relax by doing the s'mores and movie night on the beach...pretty low key, but we'll need the rest since we are driving from Ohio.

There has been a lot of activity here over the past few days, so I want to make sure I have updated the Be Our Guest list accurately. Please take a moment to look it over and let me know if you need anything updated or corrected.

If you pop your email to Microsoft outlook then there is a much faster way to resize your pictures than using Paint. I hated that process...was taking me forever. Check out this shortcut:

Just want to say THANKS AGAIN for posting this!!! I have been using this resizing shortcut method or the past couple of days and it is awesome!

PS- so sorry that I have not been able to keep up on your trip report. If it is any consolation, I can't keep up on mine, either.

This is exactly what we like to do on arrival day or if we can't get a seat at Beachs n Cream we eat by the pool from Hurricane Hanna's:dog2:

We got back yesterday :( We loved the resort and had a great time. The only issue we had were the beds... OMG - those were the most uncomfortable things. My husband who enjoys a firm bed was extremely unhappy with the bed. It kept me sore the whole vacation.. but I didn't care lol Unfortunately, I can't convince him to stay there again until they are done refurbing :(

Lagoon View Room
Full balcony
2 Queens, No Daybed, so we added a cot
Right next to a servants' area(?), noise was constant

I'm at Beach Club now, not Yacht - August 17-23!

Does this mean they are too soft? I love too soft...

I am staying until the 24th - thanks for adding me! :flower1:

I wish too soft was the problem.... they were like concrete to us... my husband still has a crick in his neck and shoulder that he is trying to work out lol After we got home late at night, I was giddy to plop down on my memory foam topper lol

I have been secretly stalking this thread for awhile, but I am so happy to finally post that I've booked a stay for September 8-17 at the Beach Club in a garden view room. I am SO excited! My husband and I previously stayed at the BCV for 6 nights with one night at the BC in October 2011. I've been saving since then and now we will be returning with a 2 year old DD and 9 month DS. We will have other family meeting us down there, but will be spread out in different resorts. I'm sure I will be back to post a few questions. Thank you for all the info on page 1, it's fanatastic!

When we check into the BC mid-afternoon, I'd like to go to the Marketplace and grab some stuff for the next day's breakfast and some snacks. Is there likely to be bagels, cream cheese, PB, and/or fruit still available at that time of day?

I like soft, too. Do you know if you had one of the refurbished rooms?

We are returning to BC after many years at GF and CR. All of our dates were not available for a last minute trip so we are splitting between GF and BC. Can anyone confirm if you can still use the door near 1501 to exit/enter towards IG ? If so, do you need your magic band to operate the door or a key card ? Thanks so much for your help.

Hi all, what do you think about BC for a family of 5 with small children? I'm think it would rock in terms of location and the pool. Has anyone stayed in a room with 5 (youngest would be 3 and could stay on the daybed or what have you).

We stayed with 5 ... Was no issue with that and my youngest LOVED the pool.
