I just had to comment on this. I posted on this thread (maybe last year's BC thread) and also in the BC pics thread that I had a room last year on the 5th Floor CL, off the top of my head I'm thinking 5699, that had the exact same noise!! And I actually snapped pics of the service elevator door outside of my room because that's where I suspected the noise was coming from. I can't believe they don't have enough complaints that they do something about it. The noise sounded like it was right in the wall near my head. It even woke DH up and he NEVER wakes up to noises. I did tell a CM about it and she acted very shocked and surprised, couldn't imagine what the noise was. We were only there 3 nights, so we dealt with it, but we won't be ok with it happening again in a few weeks when we stay there!
I remembered that post as I was reading the one above, but I couldn't remember who had posted that.
If they are going to be putting people in the rooms next to the service elevator, then they really shouldn't be running it during normal sleeping hours.

This may be an experience you want to share with Disney Guest Communications and the resort management, even though it happened some time ago. You want to make sure your concerns get to the people who are in a position to do something about it. A front desk CM can move you to another room, but they can't change policies like not placing guests in rooms like that or suspending operation of the service elevator overnight.
