I have never seen one in a regular Beach Club Resort room. Not sure if they come standard in the villa rooms. Anyone know? :thumbsup2
We're staying at the yacht club and I was thinking pack n plays weren't in regular hotel rooms at Disney, but I wasn't 100% sure. I'll just go ahead and call today before we get there since our flight gets in late.

We were at WDW last week with our five year old grandson. We only used a stroller in the parks at night, not in the morning. He never complained or refused to ride in the stroller at night. It is a lot of walking, especially at Epcot and DHS, and the kids get tired. :) It was great to have the stroller when we were in the World Showcase during Food and Wine. He was protected from the huge crowds and it was a whole lot easier to get him out of the parks at night when he rode in the stroller.

I would definitely bring a stroller. You will walk many many miles in a day. If you have a higher quality umbrella stroller that's what i would use. Easy to fold up getting on the bus.

I agree.. I kept my stroller for years longer than she really needed it because she would pass out while walking around. It was great, she would fall asleep and I would hop the monorail to Epcot!

She was the only 6 year old in a stroller! Lol

The two main GV views I know about are the back entrance (lakeside) courtyard view, by the lighthouse, which has excellent people watching opportunities. Rooms with this view are pretty centrally located since they are close to the lobby area.

The other GV view that people seem to love is the wedding gazebo.

::yes::

You are never too old for a stroller. This is one of my favorite pictures of my best friend's husband after an exhausting Disney Day.

Thanks all! That photo is :rotfl2:

Leaving in 2 weeks from today!!:cool1:

I know when I was staying at Pop Century in the middle of October I could not in fact hear any of the Beach Club construction from my room at Pop. I am a very light sleeper (VERY Light!) and with my giant floppy ears I would be sure to hear the slightest renovation kerfuffle at this wonderful Epcot area resort.

I can also assure people, that I am also a light sleeper, and while I live one town away from Salem MA, and was awoken many times last night by the Halloween frivolity going on 2 miles away, at no time did I hear any BC construction.

In other news....HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEE! You get a pirate. pirate: You should get husband to take you to Seaglass (local, fabulous restaurant). That would be nice of him. Having seen your "sneaky peek" photos of the carpeting you mysteriously found in August, I have a feeling the "new and improved" BC is going to parallel the vibe going on at Seaglass, so you'll feel right at home!

In final news....the cats and I certainly aren't listening to the BC/YC Holiday soundtrack this morning to celebrate November 1. Just saying....

Christmas CD's are on in the house and car!!! And that horrible smell will be arriving soon in the lobby at the BC. Not sure how my COPD will handle it. Guess I'll have to work as little as possible.:banana::banana:

Yes! The French Toast Scent! When we were there in December, we were staying at YC, and as soon as you entered over by BC, there was this borderline nauseating scent of french toast that radiated from the BC Lobby! It was at the GF as well, but it wasn't nearly as overpowering! I like the regular scent a lot more.

With our new kitty, we may be putting up the trees (yes, that's plural) as soon as next weekend. We'll put them up with no lights or bulbs for a week or so to see what Sheldon does to them. Hopefully he's not a climber!

Hi all! We are currently enjoying the YC right now and ended up with an amazing room! We booked standard view but ended up in room 1001 - end room and huge! View of the lagoon and Boardwalk! So excited with this pixie dust! Loving the resort and its location! A bit too chilly and windy to swim today but so gorgeous!

Home from a great stay at YC. I was in 4223, a garden view that was more "obstructed water view" and I could look across and the boardwalk area. I was afraid boat/pool noise would be an issue, but it wasn't. Only noise was the guy next door who cleared his throat, gagged and retched for hours at night. He was my welcome on night one, I thought he left or quieted down, but he returned to trouble my sleep last night. Not sure if he was that loud or it was sound proofing trouble...although I didn't hear anyone's toilet flushing which is the typical room prob. I could also see the higher fireworks from Illuminations at night. Boy was there a cloud of smoke over BC afterwards.

Thanks to all who helped with my shower issue. I got it working correctly and managed to shower without creating a lake.

Happy to see the globe back in the lobby. Last stay it had been relegated to near the gift shop because, a CM told me, the fire marshall said it was a hazard in the lobby.

Good morning!

How is everyone packing for their upcoming trips. We arrive 11/15. I am thinking shorts and shirts during the day and pants and sweatshirts in the evening/nights. Sound accurate? We might need to buy extra suitcases...I am used to packing all small clothes for wdw. We have never gone this late in the year before.

Bring a sweater/sweatshirt or fleece jacket. Something light & warm. It was 45 degrees this morning in Orlando. And then 80's tomorrow. The weather fluctuates so much you have to pack for all seasons. :) I usually bring tshirts & pants/leggings for the day, and my fleece north face jacket, a hoodie & sweatpants for the early mornings and nights. And a couple of shorts and tanks in case there's a heat wave. There have been nights where I needed my sweats over the leggings and the hoodie under the fleece. And others where you don't need anything.

Last week I was fine in tank tops and shorts, even at night as it was high 80s with no humidity. Friday it was a little cooler but I was still ok. saturday I left but it was really chilly in the morning. Had I been in the parks I would have worn a short sleeved shirt. Typically once the sun was fully up it got hot.

Lol, well that covers my whole wardrobe. :rotfl2: Thanks for the response!:thumbsup2

They only do a section at a time and all noise work is done between 10 AM and 4 PM when people are at the pool or parks. Unless you are around the resort in between those hours, I doubt you will even know it is going on.

Are they modifying or changing the look of the rooms or just updating and replacing hardware, soft goods, etc. thanks! Just curious :)

Hi All!

Just jumping in on the thread now although it's been really interesting reading all your posts! We are T-Minus 2 weeks until we check in for 12 nights at the YC in CL. (Nov 17 - 29)

This has really become our second home, everyone in the family loves YC and how quiet it is... at least until we check in. After trying almost every hotel on property, this is our favorite I think.

Key things we are looking forward to? Illuminations Cruise on the 19th, reservations for California Grill during the MVMCP Fireworks and finally getting to ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train... unless they decide to burn it down again!

Just got back today from our stay at Beach Club. We had an amazing vacation but we all pretty much agreed we liked Yacht Club (we stated there last year) more. BC seemed pretty worn, even the towels in our room were worn out and frayed. We did book a BB for next year, excited to be going back to YC then!

Lol! I know. I hate packing for this time of year because my luggage is twice as big! But it really is beautiful weather for Disney. :)

Picked out our clothes today: tank tops, T shirts, long sleeve shirts, sweatshirt, shorts, capris and jeans. Plus bathing suits.

Good thing JetBlue gives one free bag each. :rotfl2:

I know Epcot is a short walk from the Yacht Club, is their transportation available by boat to and from Epcot? Do they have garden view rooms located close to the lobby? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

Yes, they have garden view near the lobby, I stayed in one during my first YC stay.

There is a boat that will pick up at the lighthouse and take you to the back gate in WS. There is nothing that will take you to the front of the park (except your legs :lmao:). However, the boat is a 20 minute wait and then a very slow ride (with stops at other hotels possible) to the park. By the time it arrives, you could have walked there.

Yes, there is boat transportation from YC/BC to Epcot. Although, walking does take less time. The boat route is YC > Boardwalk > Epcot International Gateway. On the way back it is Epcot IG > Boardwalk > YC

Hope that helps!
