We'll be coming next week - staying Wed-Saturday. This will be our first stay at the BC and we're very much looking forward to checking it out.
Has anyone ever use GardenGrocer or Mouse House Concierge while staying at the Beach Club? Just curious if the experience is as simple as it appears? We'd like to get a few snacks/water/beer delivered to us to enjoy during the trip!
I have used Garden Grocer twice. They are reputable -- a lot of people here on the Dis use them. However, "reputable" does not mean perfect. The most recent time I used them, they failed to deliver the bottled water we ordered. They did bring it the next day, but we were already at the theme park when they delivered it. So basically we missed out on being able to use that water for two days of our trip.
And, they had stuff in with our bags that we had not ordered and could not use. I told them about it when I called to complain about the water they had forgotten. Then I took the extra stuff down to Bell Services and said that if GG didn't pick it up, the cast members should use it.
When I took the extra stuff down to Bell Services, the cast member I spoke to said he was not surprised, and that GG makes mistakes all the time. That was in 2012.
If you are not at the hotel when GG arrives, they will leave your stuff with Bell Services. Yes, there is a refrigerator back there.
My experience has been that it doesn't matter what time you tell GG you want the groceries delivered; they will deliver it earlier if that is convenient for them. Both times they delivered while we were still on the plane.
If there's something you want that you don't see on the website, you can call them and see if they will get it for you. This includes liquor. There may or may not be a special procedure if you are ordering liquor, so call and ask if that's what you want. (Some people have reported that they needed to be present at time of delivery; some people have reported that they did not need to be present but needed to fax in a copy of their driver's license. I've never ordered liquor from them, so I don't provide first-hand experience.)
If someone is going to be traveling at a very popular time (Easter, July 4) you might have to get your order in early because their delivery time slots fill up.
Some people use WeGoShop. With that company, you make your own list and they send a personal shopper out to buy your stuff. I have never used them.
I've been on the Dis for years, and I have never heard of Mouse House Concierge, so proceed with caution and make sure you have many positive referrals before using them.
