Trying to figure out which of the two is a better option crowds and cost wise? My past two DL trips were during Halloween season, once in mid-Oct and the other in late Sept. How do the crowds during my two 2013 possibles compare to the Sept/Oct crowds? We used to pull the kids out of school but my oldest is going to be in 3rd grade and we noticed that we got a lot of negative pressure from his current 2nd grade teacher so we are trying to be good next year about using the school vacation times. 
Been searching old threads and it sort of seems like they might equally be crowded due to Ski Week students being off the entire week of President's Day in Feb and for Spring Break in April. Easter falls early in 2013, March 31st, so at least the schools who schedule their Spring Breaks before and after Easter will be long gone by the 3rd week.
The other thing making me somewhat anxious aside from not going during my "usual" Halloween season is that this will be our first time going with MIL... We usually travel with a big group of my family and we are a pretty well oiled machine. I send my brother out as our FP runner and my teen cousin navigates the map while I keep track of the schedule and tour plan. Our group was up to 19 people total but we often split up for thrill rides or for the seniors to have a snack and people watching break. We are used to staying in the dirt cheap motels across Harbor and MIL is more of a Hilton/Hyatt kind of person. It would be great if I could score a discount on the GCH but those cheapie rooms are hard to pass up when the difference is such a huge difference!
Oh, my other thoughts are about cheaper flights during those times. We'd be flying out of Seattle and I prefer to fly into SNA.
Thanks sooo, sooo much for any advice and thoughts!! I know it's a long way off but I like to plan way in advance.
